Those people will not become wise. Why is that? Because this teacher, in this realm and time, relies solely on the compassion of showing the deeds of the Buddha to us, the sentient beings of this degenerate age, that this teaching has the three baskets (Tripitaka). Not only that, but the teaching of the secret mantra Vajrayana, the path that can manifest the union of two truths without learning in one short lifetime of the degenerate age, has also appeared. Moreover, many upholders of the teachings who have entered the teachings of Sutra and Tantra, and the Sangha of noble beings, have also appeared. If the teacher had not shown the light of the teachings in this realm and time, we would not even hear the name of the Three Jewels, let alone practice the path of Sutra and Tantra. Therefore, no matter what practice of the new or old tradition one engages in, one must never lack the strong faith of holding the teacher as supreme, so one must be especially respectful to the teacher and strive for his yoga. If others think like this: Even if it is not the teacher Shakyamuni Buddha, but a Buddha with the appearance of renunciation and detachment, or a deity with a wrathful or peaceful appearance, what difference does it make which one you respect? There is no difference in essence, because the wisdom bodies of all Buddhas are equal, and there is no high or low in terms of abandonment and realization. But if we only consider the nominal aspect, it is through the compassion of the teacher that the generation stage, recitation, and path meditation of the peaceful, subduing, and wrathful forms of the deities of each school have arisen. Just as the source of all the waters of Jambudvipa is Lake Anavatapta, all the great and small practices of the Sutra and Tantra path that have arisen in this teaching are definitely due to the compassion of this teacher. Just as praying to one's own root guru brings more blessings than praying to other gurus, due to the connection, praying to Shakyamuni Buddha brings blessings faster than praying to other Buddhas. So, does this mean that one is forbidden to pray only to Shakyamuni Buddha and not to other Buddhas? That is not the case. No matter which deity you pray to, that deity is with the teacher Shakyamuni Buddha.

Know that there is no difference between the Guru and the Yidam, just as all Buddhas are equal in the Dharmakaya. The supreme teacher manifests various forms, such as these Yidam deities, to show refuge and support to us sentient beings in this degenerate age. This is how it must be understood. If one thinks that the Guru and one's own Yidam are different in meaning, abandoning the Guru and clinging to other Yidams, it will be difficult to attain accomplishment. Similarly, in the system of Anuttara-tantra, the Lama who has become one's Vajra Master is, in essence, inseparable from all the Buddhas of the three times, and his kindness is even greater than that of the Buddhas of the three times. Because without the Lama, even if the Buddhas of the three times were present, one would not receive blessings and accomplishments. Therefore, even offering a single pore of the Lama's skin is far superior to offering to the Buddhas of the three times. By merely pleasing the Lama, one pleases the Buddhas of the three times and receives blessings. This is widely praised in the Vajrayana scriptures. Therefore, the Lama is the embodiment of all the Three Jewels, and is also known as the Fourth Jewel. Therefore, as it is said in the scriptures, "Of the Buddhas of the three times, know that the Lama is especially important." If someone thinks, what is more supreme than Guru Yoga? That is indeed the case. In the system of Tantra, there is no Dharma more supreme than the profound path of Guru Yoga, it is the gateway to receiving blessings. However, the Lama who teaches Tantra is also an emanation of the Teacher Shakyamuni Buddha. As it is said in the Nirvana Sutra: "Do not grieve, Ananda! Do not lament, Ananda! In the future, I will emanate as a virtuous friend to benefit you and others." As it is said in the scriptures, by practicing the Sutra and Tantra paths taught by the compassion of the Teacher Shakyamuni Buddha, these Lamas are also sons born from the words of Shakyamuni Buddha. The Lama who possesses realization is also a mind-born son from whom the blessings of the conventional and ultimate Bodhicitta of the Teacher's mind-stream have been transferred. Therefore, whatever Guru Yoga one practices,
