བསྟབས་ཤིང་ལྷའི་རས་བཅོས་སུ་འབུམ་ཕྲག་ལྔ་རི་བ་དག་གིས་བཀབ་སྟེ་དགེ་རྩ་བསྐྱེད་དོ། །སངས་རྒྱས་དེ་མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པའི་མཆོད་རྟེན་འཕང་དུ་དཔག་ཚད་གཅིག་དང་རྒྱར་དཔག་ཚད་ཕྱེད་པ་རིན་ཆེན་སྣ་བདུན་ལས་བྱས་ཏེ་བླ་མེད་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཏུ་སྨོན་ལམ་བཏབ་བོ་ཞེས་གསུངས་སོ། ༈ །ཡང་དྲིན་ལན་བསབས་པའི་མདོ་ལས། ཀུན་དགའ་བོས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་དགེ་སློང་དག་ལ་ཐུགས་བརྩེ་ཞིང་བྱམས་པའི་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་ནས་ཡུན་ཇི་སྲིད་ཅིག་ལོན་ཞེས་ཞུས་པའི་ལན་དུ་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། སྔོན་འདས་པའི་བསྐལ་པ་གྲངས་མེད་བརྗོད་དུ་མེད་པའི་ཕ་རོལ་ན། སྡིག་པ་བྱས་པའི་མི་གཉིས་ཤིག །དམྱལ་བའི་སྲུང་མས་ཤིང་རྟ་འདྲེན་དུ་བཅུག་སྟེ། ཕན་ཚུན་མི་དལ་བར་རྒྱུག་ཅིང་ལྕགས་ཐོས་བརྡེགས་པ་ན། མི་གཅིག་སྟོབས་ཆུང་བས་འདྲེན་མ་ནུས་པ་ལ་ལྕགས་ཐོས་བརྡེགས་པ་དང་ཚེ་འཕོས་ནས་ཡང་ཕྱིར་སོས་སོ། །དེར་མི་གཅིག་གིས་དེ་ལ་སྙིང་རྗེ་བསྐྱེད་དེ། བདག་འབའ་ཞིག་གིས་ཤིང་རྟ་འདི་དྲང་གིས་མི་འདི་ཐོངས་ ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་ལ། སྲུང་མ་ཁྲོས་ཏེ། ལྕགས་ཀྱི་ཐོ་བས་བརྡེགས་པས་ཚེ་འཕོས་ནས་སུམ་ཅུ་རྩ་གསུམ་གྱི་ལྷར་སྐྱེས་སོ། །དེ་ལྟར་དེའི་དུས་ན་ང་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་ན་འདུག་པ་ལས། བྱམས་ཤིང་བརྩེ་བའི་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་པ་དེ་ནི་ང་ཡིན་ཏེ་ངས་དེར། སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་པ་དེ་ལ་ཐོག་མར་སྙིང་བརྩེའི་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་ཡང་དེ་ཙམ་གྱི་བར་དུ་ཐུགས་བརྩེ་ཞིང་བྱམས་པའི་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དོ། །ཞེས་གསུངས་སོ། །འདི་ནི་དམྱལ་བའི་ཤིང་རྟ་འདྲེན་པ་གྱད་པཀྴི་ཏ་ཞེས་བྱ་བར་གྱུར་པའི་ཚེ་ཐོག་མར་བྱམས་པའི་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་པ་ཉིད་དུ་གསུངས་སོ། ༈ །ཡང་འདུལ་བ་གཞི་ལས། འཁོར་གྱི་ཉན་ཐོས་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་ཐོག་མར་ཐུགས་གང་དུ་བསྐྱེད་ཅེས་ཞུས་པའི་ལན་དུ། བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། སྔོན་བྱུང་བ་རྒྱལ་པོ་འོད་ལྡན་ཞེས་བྱ་བའི་ཡུལ་དུ་གླང་པོ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ཀུ་མུད་དའི་མདོག་ལྟར་དཀར་བ། ཡན་ལག་བདུན་པ་ཤིན་ཏུ་གནས་པ། གཟུགས་བཟང་བ་ལྟ་ན་སྡུག་པ་ཞིག་བྱུང་བ་དེ་གླང་པོ་འདུལ་མཁན་མཁས་པར་གཏད་ནས་དེས་ཀྱང་དུལ་བར་བྱས་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལ་སླར་ཕུལ་བ་དང་། རྒྱལ་པོ་དང་འདུལ་མཁན་དེ་གཉིས་དེ་ལ་ཞོན་ནས་རི་དྭགས་གཤོར་དུ་སོང་བ་དང་ཇི་ཙམ་ན་གླང་པོ་དེས་ནགས་ཀྱི་བལ་གླང་མོའི་དྲི་ཚོར་ནས་དྲི་དེའི་རྗེས་བཞིན་དུ་རྒྱུག་པ་ན། གླང་པོ་ཆེ་རླུང་ལྟར་མགྱོགས་པས་ཁྱེར་བ་དང་གནམ་ས་འགུལ་བ་ལྟར་མཐོང་ནས་སྐྲག་སྟེ་འདུལ་མཁན་ལ་གླང་

以庄严的支架和天神所织的帷幔，竖立五千宝伞覆盖，修集善根。佛陀说：此佛从苦难中超越，其所建之舍利塔，高度一由旬，广度半由旬，以七宝庄严而成，发愿趣向无上菩提。复次《多次感恩经》说：阿难问佛，世尊以慈悲心对诸比丘而发愿，久远当住，佛答言：在无量无数过去劫，有二人造恶，被阎罗狱卒强牵于火车，互相驱策，不得休息，以铁鞭击，弱者不能牵动，遂为鞭击而死，却复还生。其时有一人起悲心，说：我独能代牵此车，释此人。狱卒怒，以铁杖击，命终之后生于三十三天。佛告阿难：当时在地狱中起慈心者即是我也，我最初于一众生起悲心，于是后次第对一切众生皆生慈悲心。此即所谓地狱车辚辚，名为“伽陀祇多”，最初即由慈心而起。又《调伏本论》说：声闻众问佛：世尊最初于何处起心？佛答：在过去世有一名为“光明王”的国土，有一大白象，形如白云，七支分具，威仪端严，为调御师调伏后奉献国王。王与调御师乘此象入山林，象见母象气味便驰，迅如风，地动如雷，王与调御师惧而坠落。

With decorated poles and canopies woven by gods, five thousand parasols were raised as offerings, generating vast merit. The Buddha said: That Tathāgata, transcending suffering, erected a stupa one yojana high and half a yojana wide, made of the seven precious substances, and dedicated it towards unsurpassed enlightenment. Furthermore, in the Sutra of Repeated Gratitude it is said: Ānanda asked the Blessed One, who with compassion towards the monks generated a mind of loving-kindness, wishing to remain long. The Buddha replied: In inconceivably countless past eons, two men who had committed evil were bound by a hell-guardian to draw a fiery cart, urged on without rest, struck with iron whips. One, being weak, could not pull; he was beaten and died, but was reborn again. At that time, another man gave rise to compassion and said: I alone will pull this cart, release this man. The guard grew angry and struck him with an iron rod; he died and was reborn in the Heaven of the Thirty-Three. The Buddha said: At that time, the one who gave rise to a compassionate heart in hell was myself. From that first moment I cultivated loving-kindness toward one being, and thereafter extended it to all beings. This is the story of the hell-cart, called “Gya-pakshita,” and it was the very first arousing of loving-kindness. Again, in the Discipline Basis it is asked: The disciples inquired where the Blessed One first generated the mind of compassion. The Buddha replied: In the land of King Radiant Light, there was a great white elephant, like a white cloud, with seven perfect limbs, beautiful in form. A skilled tamer subdued it and offered it to the king. The king and the trainer mounted it and went into the forest. Smelling a she-elephant, the great elephant ran swiftly like the wind, shaking earth and sky; the king and tamer, terrified, fell down.
