Numerous hundreds of thousands and in the expanse of the sky, many deities also gathered, knowing the bodhisattva's extraordinary aspiration, they assembled to witness the wondrous event. Then, the yaksha rose into the sky and said to the bodhisattva: Great King, please act according to your vow! Subsequently, the king placed the crown prince on the throne, asked for forgiveness from the ministers and the people, and ordered the people to hold their breath. He went to the fiery pit. Facing the extremely terrifying fiery pit, for the sake of the Dharma, if I jump in without fear, may this pit transform into a lotus sea by the power of my merit. With this truthful word, reciting this verse and jumping in, the fiery pit immediately transformed into a cool lake filled with lotuses. The lord of the gods, seeing the king's rare act, in order to make gods and humans believe in his diligence, hid the form of the yaksha and revealed his own form, repeating the previous verse: Practice the Dharma of good deeds diligently. The king kept this in mind, wrote it on golden tablets, spread it throughout Jambudvipa, and widely disseminated it. Thus, the king, the good speaker, is the Bhagavan himself. Furthermore, in the past, the Bhagavan himself, as a youth seeking the Dharma, was named Dharma Seeker. All the good words he heard, he wrote down, received, recited, and memorized completely. Afterwards, in all towns and villages, he sought the Dharma everywhere. A person in a bird's nest in the mountains said: I can tell you words with the name of the Tathagata. The youth was overjoyed. The person said: I will not teach the Dharma without a price. The youth then said: I am wearing clothes worth twenty crore, and adorned with jewels worth forty crore. Even so, if I give up my body from this bird's nest in the mountains, you must teach me. After making such a vow, the person taught one verse with a name, and the youth gave up his body from the top of the mountain. With the blessing of undamaged truth, the Four Great Kings caught him and went peacefully. Seeing this rare event, they praised him greatly. Also, in the past, in the kingdom of Varanasi, in the land of King Brahma-given, the Bhagavan himself was the householder Shuddhodana.

When he became able to rival the wealth of Vaishravana, he went to the ocean to acquire treasures, thereby fulfilling the hopes of the people. Once, he took a supremely beautiful pearl necklace that had come from another jewel island and offered it as a gift to the king, who was very pleased. At that time, the king's daughter, named Saraswati, heard the well-spoken words sung by her, and the householder, filled with joy and goosebumps, returned to his home, unattached to food or anything else, thinking only of those beautiful words. He thought: Although I have acquired a great collection of jewels in twelve years, I have not acquired any beautiful speech. What shall I do with these stones acquired with great effort? Beautiful speech is the true jewel! Thinking this, he sent someone to ask the king's daughter to bestow beautiful speech. That daughter said: Beautiful speech cannot be obtained with money. If you are willing to give up all the treasures you have accumulated in twelve years, I will bestow beautiful speech upon you. That householder, with great respect, took all the treasures he had accumulated in twelve years and went to the king's residence to listen to the beautiful speech. The king said to that householder: Can beautiful speech fill the entire earth? Wealth must be acquired with great effort, why have you done this? If you are without food, can you eat beautiful speech? The householder said: What is the use of jewels that generate attachment and hatred? Beautiful speech, which eliminates faults and accomplishes virtues upon hearing, is worth more than filling the entire earth with jewels. Having said this, he wrote those beautiful words on gold plates and spread them in all directions. At that time, the king's daughter who spoke beautiful speech was Shariputra himself. Again, in the past, in the royal palace called Four Courtyards, when the Blessed One himself was born as King Shibi, he ruled the country according to the Dharma, giving alms as he wished, caring for the sick and the helpless, and guiding beings to practice the ten virtues, thereby increasing the realm of the gods. Indra, in order to test him, transformed himself into the form of a Rakshasa.
