The monkey king did bad things, and he also did bad things when he became a Buddha. Although he didn't feel it, the Blessed One, you used to love him like an only son in the past. Now that you have become a Buddha, what more needs to be said? Also, in the past, in a large forest with cliffs, when he became a monkey, a person got lost and was looking for the fruit of the Tindu tree to eat in that area. He climbed a tree and fell into a deep abyss that was very difficult to escape. When he was oppressed by inescapable sorrow, that monkey transported the fruit from the tree and practiced strength on the stones, rescuing that person from the cliff. Because of fatigue, he fell asleep on a stone. That foolish man promised to be a servant and lived there, thinking, "I escaped from loneliness. This monkey is very strong. If it wakes up, it will kill me. Before it wakes up, I will kill it." So he threw a large stone at the monkey's head. The corner of the stone hit the head, but not completely. His head was injured, and he jumped up and looked. The man was standing there in a panic, and he didn't see anything else. Thinking, "This is what he did," disregarding the pain I suffered, "He is doing bad things without considering kindness." So, with great compassion, his eyes filled with tears, he looked at him and said, "You became a human being but do such things, alas! If someone else harmed me, you should have stopped it. What is the point of ruining this life and the next in this way? Now I will send you to the vicinity of the village. Don't waste time. I will send you there, point out the road, and advise you to abandon sinful actions." Then he left. That person, because of the maturation of bad karma, became ugly, like a flesh-eating ghost. Wherever he went, he was driven away and lived near the forest. A king who hunted animals saw him and asked him. He told the story of being treated with ingratitude despite being compassionate. Also, in the past, a Bodhisattva became a bird called a Garuda. In that area, when the lion, the king of beasts, was eating meat, a bone got stuck in its mouth, and it was experiencing pain. That Garuda bird asked it.

If even a slight displeasure is not desired, what need is there to mention innocent beings? Having said this, he did not allow them to be killed. Then, the deity of Varanasi sent plagues, rats, and parrots, causing the land to become wretched, and the deities did not send rain, causing most of the people to die. The king asked the diviners, who said, "Because the hermit was harmed, the deities are displeased, and that is why this has happened." When asked how to remedy this, they said, "If you make offerings to the deities with tormas and other things, and ask the hermit and the deities for forgiveness, that will help." As they said, the king proclaimed this throughout the city, made offerings to the deities, and gave alms to the poor. Then, he went to the hermit who spoke of patience, prostrated at his feet, and asked for forgiveness. The hermit said, "Great king, I forgive you. But how can I be believed?" The hermit said, "If I am not lying, may the blood flowing from my body turn into milk." As soon as he said this, it happened. Because he did not believe, the hermit said, "Even if you cut my body, if I do not have even the slightest anger, may my body return to its former state." When he said this, his body returned to its former state. The king and his retinue looked with astonished eyes and prostrated at his feet. That king always made offerings to that hermit. At that time, about a thousand wandering ascetics who had joined other teachers, out of jealousy for the hermit who had become the king's object of veneration, scattered unclean dirt on him. That hermit prayed, "By the merit of my practice of patience, may I, when I attain enlightenment, wash away all your dirt and defilements with the water of nectar, and may the impurity of desire be completely purified." Thus, the hermit who spoke of patience was the Bhagavan himself, King Jetasena was Ajnata Kaundinya, his four ministers were the other five disciples, and the thousand wandering ascetics were the thousand monks including the Kashyapa brothers. Furthermore, in a previous time, the Bhagavan was the king of Varanasi named Mahabala.
