Hearing the sound of "The human king I am victorious," they were amazed and frightened. Soon, they began to fight each other. According to the Dharma, the gods and asuras fought directly. I am victorious's army was much superior to the asuras. When the sky above us cracked, they shouted, "The human king I am victorious!" Hearing this, thinking about who is the being whose chariot cracked the sky above us, must have great merit, we cannot defeat them, so the asuras were terrified and defeated, fleeing back to their own abodes. The king asked, "Who won?" The ministers replied, "The gods won!" King I am victorious thought, I am superior to the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens. Then, King I am victorious thought, I have become a Chakravartin king ruling the four continents, and even occupied half of Indra's seat. My power is unmatched, how can I be equal to Indra? Now I will drive the king of the gods, Indra, from this position, and I alone will rule the kingship of gods and humans. As soon as he had this thought, the great King I am victorious completely lost his wealth and fell back to Jambudvipa, arriving at the door of his old palace, suffering from a serious illness, experiencing the pain of approaching death. At that time, the king's ministers, as well as those belonging to important classes, and those who practiced secret mantras together, went to where King I am victorious was, and said: If the god passes away, then the ignorant people of the region will ask, what did King I am victorious say when he made a mistake? How should we answer? The king said: When they ask that, say this: King I am victorious possessed the seven treasures, and with human wealth ruled the kingship of the four continents. He even went among the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens, but still was not satisfied with the enjoyment of the five desires and made a mistake. Even if a rain of Karshapanas fell, there was no satisfaction with desires. O wise one!

Earthly desires are of little taste and thin, knowing much suffering, even for the desires of the gods, there is no joy. Moreover, the Hearers of the Perfectly Complete Buddha are delighted in the exhaustion of craving. Even if it were to become a mountain of gold equal to the snowy mountains, even one jewel would not be enough for them. The wise should know this. If one understands suffering based on this, how can one rejoice in desires? Having realized worldly wealth as thorns, one should train to tame oneself by relying on it. Thus, verses were also spoken. Then, King Ngalas tirelessly made offerings and spoke in verses: Knowing that the next world is frightening and that life is short, one should do good deeds, for not doing good deeds leads to suffering. Therefore, with the desire for merit, one should give alms properly, and giving will bring joy in this world and the next. Soon, the people of the town and the villagers heard that King Ngalas was old and near death, and hundreds of thousands of beings came to see him. The king explained to those crowds the faults of desires, the faults of dwelling in a home, and the disparagement of desires, so many hundreds of thousands of beings abandoned their homes and went to the forest, ordaining among the hermits. By meditating on the four Brahmaviharas, they became detached from attachment to desires and were born in the Brahma world. Thus, from the time King Ngalas played in his youth until he resided in the Thirty-Three Heavens, one hundred and fourteen Indras died and transmigrated during that time. The lifespan of each Indra is one day in the Thirty-Three Heavens for every hundred years of humans. Thirty days make a month, and twelve months make a year, so the lifespan of the gods is a thousand years. If counted in human years, it is thirty-six million years, which is the lifespan of one Indra. The lifespan of one hundred and fourteen Indras, when counted in human years, is four hundred and fourteen million years, which is the approximate duration of King Ngalas enjoying the pleasures of gods and humans. End.
