Having said, "You know best whether you will take her or not," the king sent the Brahmins to investigate whether she was suitable. When that girl served food to the Brahmins, they only looked at that girl and could not eat, so her father made the girl invisible, then gave them food, and then left. Those Brahmins thought: This woman who was created like a magic trick, her appearance is very beautiful, she can even deceive practitioners, if she is with her, the king will definitely be infatuated with her and neglect the affairs of religion and politics. So they said to the king: Although she has a beautiful appearance, her horoscope is bad, the king should not even look at her, let alone marry her. After hearing these words, the king had no lustful thoughts. Knowing that the king did not want her, he gave her to a minister. Later, when the king went to the Kumuda flower festival, the woman named "Intoxicant" thought: This king abandoned me because my horoscope was bad. So she dressed up very beautifully and looked down from the building. When the king saw her, he stared at her for a long time with surprised eyes, thinking: Is this a goddess or an asura or what? Before he had seen enough, she left in another chariot, the king was unhappy, thinking only of her in his heart, and after returning to his residence, he asked the driver who that woman was. The driver replied: She is the wife of Minister Abhipa Raka, named "Intoxicant". The king thought: Since that girl has become someone else's wife, hope has been shattered, and the name "Intoxicant" is truly worthy of the name. Driven by desire, he lost his steadfastness and felt uneasy, his face, eyes, and muscles became thin. The owner of that "Intoxicant", that is, that minister, was proficient in various hints and signs, and he knew that the king had become so haggard because of desire, and because he was loyal to the king, he secretly said to the king: When I was worshiping the gods this morning, a yaksha said, King, don't you know that you are in love with "Intoxicant"? After saying that, he disappeared. Since this is the case, why didn't the gods tell me earlier? Please take this "Intoxicant" for my sake. After hearing these words, the king felt ashamed and lowered his head. Although he was controlled by desire, because he was accustomed to thinking about the Dharma, he did not lose his steadfastness.

The unwilling one said: This is unreasonable and will cause merit to decline. I will also die, and you will also feel sorrow from being separated from her, so this life and the next will be harmful to both of us. The Dharma that unwise children believe in is not believed in by the wise. The minister said: Please do not suspect that this is contrary to the Dharma. By being a helper in my giving, it will become merit for you; if you do not accept, by hindering my giving, it will become non-merit. There is also no bad talk to be had. Who will know this besides the two of us? Therefore, there is no reason for people to feel ashamed. The king said: You love me very much, but such giving is unreasonable. Even if someone does evil where no one sees it, they will be uncomfortable as if they had eaten poison, because it is impossible for gods and yogis not to see it. Furthermore, if you give her away, you will suffer. The minister said: You are the lord, and I am the subject, so what conflict is there with the Dharma since you have dominion over this maidservant? This is poverty after poverty for me. If you give away poverty, you will be very happy in the next life, and hearing of poverty, please accept this goddess. The king said: Do not say such things. Even if one gains glory through pure practice, harming the giver is easier than stabbing with a weapon or entering into fire. The minister said: If the god does not accept her, then let her be like a prostitute who can be enjoyed by everyone. Therefore, please accept her. The king said: Are you drunk? How can I punish an innocent wife with my punishment? If so, you will become an object of condemnation and will be burned in this life and the next. Therefore, do not be too attached to what should not be done, and be pleased with reason. That minister said: If you are happy, my heart is happy. Even if it is contrary to the Dharma or condemned by people, I can endure it. Because there is no protector better than you, please accept her to increase my merit. The king said: You love me, but you do not consider my benefit, therefore I cannot abandon you even more. Not fearing the condemnation of the world, and not considering the fruits of this life and the next, is abandoned by the gods and glory, even life.
