Sa, etc., in verse form, tells of the faults of craving for women and other desires, as well as the exhortations of the gods, and his own fondness for solitude. Then, the prince, dwelling in the high tower, with a mind full of contentment, together with those women, abided in the three behaviors of standing, walking, and sitting, dispelling drowsiness and sleep. He went up to the top of the building and stayed alone. When midnight arrived, he heard the gods of the Pure Abodes walking in the sky, praising the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Upon hearing this, his body hair stood on end, tears flowed, and he clasped his hands together, asking the gods: "Whose virtues are you praising as you walk in the sky? Hearing this, my heart feels joy!" The gods replied in verse: "The Buddha Shakyamuni abides together with the monks who contemplate meditation." The prince asked: "What is the form of that Buddha like? How does one practice to become a Buddha? What is the practice of Bodhi like?" The gods spoke in verse about the beautiful names and the differences in the virtues of that Buddha. After that, the prince heard the praises of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and his heart was filled with joy. He thought of the Buddha's demeanor, retinue, and teachings. He also contemplated the faults of desires. Being a slave to desires, living among ordinary people blinded by afflictions, one cannot even practice the path to good rebirth, let alone attain the unsurpassed perfect Bodhi. Therefore, if I go out through the door, my relatives will create obstacles. I should jump from this tower. Thinking thus, the Tathagata Shakyamuni jumped from the top of the high tower. If that Tathagata is all-knowing and all-seeing, may that Tathagata also hear my thoughts. Having said this, the Tathagata Shakyamuni extended his right hand, emitting light, and touched the prince. From that light, hundreds of thousands of lotus petals appeared, as large as chariot wheels. From those lotuses, great rays of light also emanated, illuminating the prince, and the prince sat on the lotus, drawing near to that Buddha.

Then, with palms joined, he specifically said "I prostrate" three times. After that, the light vanished, and the youth descended before the Tathagata. He prostrated to the Tathagata hundreds of thousands of times, as if pleading with verses. The Tathagata, knowing the prince's extraordinary intention, extensively and accurately taught the practice of the Bodhisattva, thus obtaining the Dharani called Liberation, as well as the five supernormal knowledges. He stayed in the sky, manifested flowers, scattered them to the Tathagata and then descended again, praising: Possessing excellent marks, a face as immaculate as the moon, like the color of gold, I prostrate to you! Free from dust, like you, there is no one in the three realms, unparalleled, with great wisdom, I prostrate to you! etc. There, after the night passed and dawn broke, King Radiant Light heard the sound of the women of the youth's entourage crying, and quickly went to ask, and they said, "The prince is gone." The king cried and fell down. He got up again and searched hundreds of thousands of times in all the cities, when the city deity said to the king, "The youth has gone east to look upon and worship the Buddha Shakyamuni." Then the king, together with the entourage of consorts and other eighty-four kotis of nayutas of hundreds of thousands of beings, went east to the Tathagata, prostrated and praised with verses, and made aspirations for unsurpassed Bodhi. The Tathagata, knowing the king's extraordinary intention, thus taught the Dharma of non-retrogression from unsurpassed perfect Bodhi. Then, Prince Sonam Ozer requested the Bhagavan to accept the alms-food in his city, and the Bhagavan, without saying anything, agreed. The prince went together with his parents, and said to those women: You should rejoice! Be sure to decorate the Joyful City so that it is capable of offering to the Tathagata. They echoed in agreement, expressing joy. The prince decorated the Joyful City and offered it to the Tathagata, and also offered five hundred kinds of delicious food to the Tathagata and the Sangha of monks.
