想要扩大，如果对此不灰心，为什么不能把这个大海弄干呢？这样说。当时，自在天等从远处看到一位菩萨独自舀海水，为了众多生灵而行苦行。他们一个接一个地聚集到菩萨那里。菩萨看到他们用容器舀水，那些天神各自脱下天衣浸入水中，一次取出，海里的水就减少了四十由旬。再次浸入两次，就减少了八十由旬。浸入三次，就减少了一百二十由旬，那些龙因此感到恐惧，来到菩萨面前说：请饶恕，不要把海里的水弄干了。菩萨就停止了那份努力。之后，龙族问菩萨：您要这颗珍宝做什么？回答说：我需要它来利益一切众生。龙说：如果需要利益众生，海里也有很多众生，为什么要夺走？回答说：住在海里的也是众生，但他们没有贫困的痛苦。而赡洲的人们为了钱财互相残害，造作十不善业，死后堕入地狱。我因为怜悯他们，才需要这颗珍宝。之后，龙族取出珍宝，再次献上。海神也发愿在成佛时成为最殊胜的近侍。之后，菩萨重新得到珍宝，飞向天空，回到住处，询问之前的商人和朋友们。他们都平安无事，互相问候，感到惊奇。到达迦毗罗卫（Kapilavastu）国王的门口时，听到菩萨从海里回来了，大家都高兴地到门口迎接，与商人和朋友们一起举行盛大的宴会。当时，菩萨拿着珍宝回到家中，那位婆罗门的仓库全部都满了。婆罗门迦毗罗（Kapila）拥有各种珍宝

Wishing to expand, if one is not discouraged by this, why can't this ocean be dried up? So he said. At that time, the gods such as Ishvara, seeing from afar a single Bodhisattva drawing water from the ocean and enduring hardship for the sake of many beings, gathered one by one to the Bodhisattva. Seeing the Bodhisattva drawing water with a vessel, those gods each took off their divine garments and dipped them into the water. When they took them out once, the water in the ocean decreased by forty yojanas. When they dipped them in twice, it decreased by eighty yojanas. When they dipped them in three times, it decreased by one hundred and twenty yojanas. Those nagas, terrified, came to the Bodhisattva and said: Please forgive us, do not dry up the water in the ocean. The Bodhisattva then abandoned that effort. Then, the nagas asked the Bodhisattva: What do you need this precious jewel for? He replied: I need it to benefit all sentient beings. The nagas said: If you need to benefit sentient beings, there are also many sentient beings in the ocean, why do you take it away? He replied: Those who live in the ocean are also sentient beings, but they do not have the suffering of poverty. But the people of Jambudvipa harm each other for wealth, committing the ten non-virtuous deeds, and are reborn in hell after death. Because I pity them, I need this precious jewel. Then, the nagas took out the precious jewel and offered it again. The sea god also made a vow to be the most excellent attendant at the time of enlightenment. Then, the Bodhisattva regained the precious jewel, flew into the sky, returned to his abode, and asked the merchants and friends of before. They were all well and safe, greeted each other, and were amazed. When they arrived at the gate of King Kapila (迦毗罗卫), they heard that the Bodhisattva had returned from the ocean, and everyone happily welcomed him at the gate, and held a great feast with the merchants and friends. At that time, the Bodhisattva took the precious jewel and returned home, and all the Brahmin's storehouses were completely filled. The Brahmin Kapila (迦毗罗) possessed various precious jewels.

The Bodhisattva accepted, and the Brahmin was overjoyed, adorning five hundred servant girls and five hundred elephants with jewels, making music, and sending them to the Bodhisattva. At that time, the parents of the great benefactor, weeping after being separated from their son, both went blind. When they met their son, they prostrated to their parents, grasped their hands, and recognized him as their son. "Great benefactor! After you abandoned us and left, our eyes also went blind. What did you find by going to the ocean?" they asked him. He placed a precious jewel in his father's hand and said, "I found this." The parents took it in their hands and said, "There were already many such stones in my treasury. Why did you need to toil so much?" Then, the Bodhisattva took back the jewel and wiped his parents' eyes. Like a strong wind scattering clouds, the eyes of both parents became clearer than before. The parents rejoiced and said, "This is truly a precious jewel! It has become a cure for the disease of afflictions." Then, the great benefactor, holding the jewel, prayed that a jeweled throne would appear beneath his parents and a jeweled canopy above them. As soon as he spoke, it happened as he wished, and all the treasuries were filled. Then, a messenger of the king, riding an elephant that could travel a hundred thousand yojanas in a day, announced to all the people of Jambudvipa: "The great benefactor has found a wish-fulfilling jewel from the ocean. Now, for seven days, all things will rain down like rain, so everyone enjoy as you please!" The great benefactor bathed, put on new clothes, erected a flag of equal height on a thangka, hung the wish-fulfilling jewel on the top of the flag, and holding a bowl in his hand, prayed: "These people of Jambudvipa are all poor, and it is necessary to benefit them.
