Then for seven days, the thighs were submerged a little. Then for seven days, the waist was submerged a little. Again for seven days, the shoulders were submerged a little. Then for seven days, he swam to the foot of a mountain. Grasping a tree, he climbed the mountain, and in seven days reached the summit of that mountain. After spending seven days on the summit, he again took seven days to descend to the water's edge at the foot of the mountain. There, he saw in the water a lotus with golden color, its roots entwined with venomous snakes. Then, that Bodhisattva sat in the lotus posture and entered into the samadhi of loving-kindness, and the anger of those venomous snakes subsided, and through loving-kindness, all venom was pacified, and the Bodhisattva stepped from the lotus and walked for seven days, breaking free from those venomous snakes. Then, as he went on, he encountered Rakshasas, and those Rakshasas, smelling the scent of humans, ran towards him. There, he again generated a mind of loving-kindness, and those Rakshasas asked with gentle words: 'Young man, where do you come from? Where are you going?' The great giver said: 'I have come to seek the wish-fulfilling jewel.' Those Rakshasas were delighted, thinking: 'This is someone endowed with great merit. The palace of smoke and earth is very far away, and he will never reach it, which will cause him suffering. Let us transport him there by means of magic.' So they carried him into the sky and placed him in a place four hundred yojanas away. Then, as he went on, before long, he saw a silver castle and thought: 'This must be the abode of the Nagas.' So he approached it. The outside of the castle was surrounded by seven layers of moats, and inside it was filled with venomous snakes. He generated a mind of loving-kindness towards them, and the venom subsided, and he trampled on those snakes and entered the castle of the Nagas. Two Nagas were coiled around the castle, their heads resting on the castle gate. When those two saw the great giver, they raised their heads and were about to exhale, but he generated a mind of loving-kindness, and their heads drooped down and lay on the ground. He trampled on their heads and entered the castle. He saw a Naga sitting in a palace adorned with the seven precious substances. That Naga, seeing the Bodhisattva, was astonished and said: 'This place is surrounded by seven layers of moats, so who else could possibly come here?' The Bodhisattva replied:

Although this jewel is very powerful, I thought it could not fulfill my great wish, so the dragon king and his retinue saw him off, and he left. Then, he went on again and saw a blue beryl city surrounded by seven layers of moats, with two dragons coiling around it. He went as before, kneading with loving-kindness, and the dragon king living in the city greeted and honored him as before. When he asked for the jewel, the dragon king said that if he taught the Dharma for two months, he would offer it. So he taught the Dharma of the miraculous foot for two months, and the dragon king offered the wish-fulfilling jewel, which could rain down whatever was desired in a range of four thousand yojanas. He also made a vow to be his attendant when (the Bodhisattva) attained Buddhahood. The Bodhisattva thought: This jewel is also very powerful, but it has not reached the extent of my wish. So he went on again, and as before, he entered a golden city with seven moats and two dragons coiling around it, and he received greetings and inquiries as before. There, he extensively explained and taught various aspects of the Dharma for four months, so the dragon king took off the wish-fulfilling jewel from his head and offered it, and he also made a vow to be his attendant when (the Bodhisattva) attained Buddhahood. The dragon king said that the power of this jewel could rain down jewels and whatever was desired in a range of eight thousand yojanas. The Bodhisattva was initially pleased, but he thought: The extent of Jambudvipa is only seven thousand yojanas, so this jewel cannot fulfill my expectations. Who is like this? So he got up to greet him, placed (the dragon king) on a jewel throne, and gave him various foods. Then, (the Bodhisattva) asked how (the dragon king) had come. The dragon king replied: The people of Jambudvipa are poor and destitute, committing various sins, and immediately fall into the lower realms after death. I feel deep compassion for this, and I have endured the hardships of a long journey to ask you, the great king, for the wish-fulfilling jewel. In order to attain perfect enlightenment through the merit of benefiting sentient beings with this jewel, please grant me this jewel without going against my wishes. The dragon king said: The wish-fulfilling jewel is very rare. If you have come for this, please stay for a month, accept my offerings, and teach the Dharma, and I will give you this jewel.

菩萨也同样说了要做，龙王像一天一样，供养了具有百味的各种食物，也用音乐供养。菩萨对它讲述了一个月的近念住法门，准备返回时，龙王高兴地解下头顶的珍宝供养，并发愿说：大丈夫，您成佛时，愿成为您最好的近侍。问龙王这颗宝珠有什么威力时，龙王心想：这颗宝珠能像下雨一样满足方圆两千由旬内的一切需求。于是将前后得到的三个珍宝系在衣服的边上带出，龙王和眷属一起送行。之后，菩萨走到一个荒凉的地方，拿起珍宝，发愿说：如果这些是真正的如意宝珠，愿我能飞向天空。话音刚落，就飞向天空，脱离了海洋的阻碍，到达了岸边。在那里稍微休息了一下，睡着的时候，海里的小龙们商量说：这片海里只有这三颗宝珠，这个人拿走了三分之二，我们把他偷回来吧。于是龙们就偷走了。菩萨醒来一看，发现宝珠不见了，心想：这一定是被海里的龙偷走了，我有什么能力能把海水舀干呢？于是下定决心，在没有拿回宝珠之前，绝不空手而归。走到海边，拿起一个海龟的壳，用双手舀海水。之后，海神知道了他的想法，说道：这片海又深又广，有三十三万由旬，整个赡部洲的人都无法把海水舀干，更何况你一个人呢，这是没有用的。菩萨说：一个人如果真心 做事，就没有什么做不成的。我想得到珍宝，给一切众生带来利益和快乐。凭借着他的福德，

The Bodhisattva also said that he would do the same, and the Dragon King, like a single day, offered various foods with a hundred flavors and also offered music. When the Bodhisattva taught the Dharma of mindfulness for a month and prepared to return, the Dragon King happily took off the precious jewel from his head and offered it, and made the aspiration: "Great man, when you become a Buddha, may I become your best attendant." When asked the Dragon King what power this jewel had, the Dragon King thought: "This jewel can fulfill all needs within a radius of two thousand yojanas like rain." So he tied the three precious jewels he had obtained before and after to the edge of his clothes and took them out, and the Dragon King and his entourage escorted him. Then, the Bodhisattva went to a desolate place, took the precious jewels in his hands, and made the aspiration: "If these are true wish-fulfilling jewels, may I fly into the sky." As soon as he spoke, he flew into the sky, escaped the obstacle of the ocean, and reached the shore. There he rested a little and fell asleep. While he was sleeping, the small dragons in the sea discussed: "There are only these three jewels in this sea, and this man has taken two-thirds of them. Let's steal them back." So the dragons stole them. When the Bodhisattva woke up and looked, he saw that the jewels were gone, and thought: "These must have been stolen by the dragons in the sea. What power do I have to scoop up the seawater and dry it up?" So he made a vow that he would not return empty-handed until he had recovered the jewels. He went to the seashore, picked up a turtle shell, and scooped up the seawater with both hands. Then, the sea god knew his intention and said: "This sea is deep and wide, with three hundred and thirty thousand yojanas. Even all the people of Jambudvipa cannot scoop up the seawater, let alone you alone. It is useless." The Bodhisattva said: "If a person does something from the heart, nothing is impossible. I want to obtain the jewels and bring benefit and happiness to all beings. By the merit of this,"
