འོད་ཞེས་བྱ་བར་གྱུར་ཏེ། ལུས་ལ་འོད་ཡོད་པ་དང་། ལྷ་དང་མཚུངས་པར་མཛེས་པ་དང་། རྒྱལ་པོའི་མངའ་དབང་དང་འབྱོར་བ་ཆེན་པོ་དང་ལྡན་པར་གྱུར་པ་ན། སྔོན་གྱི་ལས་དགེ་བས་འདི་ལྟར་གྱུར་པས། ད་ཡང་དགེ་བ་བྱ་བར་བསམ་ནས་བང་མཛོད་ཅི་ཡོད་པ་སྦྱིན་པར་དྲིལ་བསྒྲགས་ཏེ། ཟས་དང་གོས་དང་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་དང་སྨན་ལ་སོགས་པ་ཅི་དང་ཅི་འདོད་པས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཚིམ་པར་བྱས་ཏེ། ཐམས་ཅད་རྒྱལ་པོ་རང་ཉིད་དང་འདྲ་བར་བྱས་ནས་བདེ་ཞིང་རྩེན་ཏོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་རྒྱལ་པོའི་སྙན་པས་སའི་སྟེང་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཁྱབ་པར་གྱུར་པ་ན། དེར་མཐའ་འཁོབ་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆུང་བ་བྱི་མ་སེ་ན་ཞེས་པ་ཕྲག་དོག་ཏུ་གྱུར་ཏེ། རྒྱལ་པོ་ཟླ་འོད་འདི་མེད་པར་མ་བྱས་ན་དེའི་གྲགས་པས་བདག་གི་མིང་དང་ཡོན་ཏན་མི་མངོན་པར་ཟིལ་གྱིས་གནོན་པས་དེ་མེད་པའི་ཐབས་ཇི་ལྟར་བྱ་ཞེས་མཆོད་གནས་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱུ་རྣམས་ལ་དྲིས་པ་དང་། དེ་དག་གིས་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཟླ་འོད་ནི་འགྲོ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་ཕ་མ་ལྟར་བྱམས་པས་བདག་ཅག་ནི་དེ་ལ་གནོད་པ་བྱེད་མི་ནུས་སོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །དེར་རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་མ་དགའ་ནས་གང་སུ་དག་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཟླ་འོད་ཀྱི་མགོ་བཅད་དེ་འོངས་ན་དེ་ལ་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་ཀྱི་ཕྱེད་དང་བུ་མོ་ཡང་ཆུང་མར་སྦྱིན་ཅེས་བཀར་བཏགས་པ་དང་། རི་བྲག་ན་བྲམ་ཟེ་དྲག་པོའི་མིག་ཅེས་བྱ་བས་ཐོས་ཏེ། དེ་ལྟར་བསྒྲུབ་ ཅེས་སྨྲས་ནས་ཞག་བདུན་དུ་རང་གི་ལུས་བསྲུང་བའི་སྔགས་བྱས་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལས་ལམ་རྒྱགས་བླང་ཏེ་ལམ་དུ་ཞུགས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཟླ་འོད་ཀྱི་ཡུལ་དུས་ས་གཡོ་བ་དང་། སྐར་མ་ལྷུང་བ་སོགས་ལྟས་ངན་པ་མང་པོ་བྱུང་ངོ་། །བློན་པོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་རྨི་ལམ་ངན་པ་རྨིས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་གྱི་སྒོ་སྲུང་བའི་ལྷ་མོས་བྲམ་ཟེ་དེ་མྱོས་ཤིང་བསླད་པར་བྱས་ཏེ་ནང་དུ་མ་ཆུད་དོ། །དེ་ནས་གནས་གཙང་མའི་ལྷས་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཟླ་འོད་ལ་སྤྱིན་པའི་ཕར་ཕྱིན་རྫོགས་པའི་ཆེད་དུ་རྨི་ལམ་དུ་དེ་སྦྲན་ནོ། །དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོས་བློན་པོ་ཟླ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་མངགས་ཏེ་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་གྱི་སྒོ་ནས་སུ་འོངས་པ་མ་བགག་པར་ནང་དུ་ཐོངས་ཤིག་ཅེས་བསྒོའོ། །ཟླ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་སྒོར་སོང་བ་དང་སྒོ་སྲུང་བའི་ལྷས་ལུས་བསྟན་ཏེ། ཡུལ་གཞན་ནས་འོངས་པའི་བྲམ་ཟེ་འདིས་སྡིག་པའི་སེམས་ཀྱིས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་མགོ་སློང་དུ་འོངས་པས་ནང་དུ་མ་བཏང་བ་ཡིན་ནོ། །བློན་པོས་སྨྲས་པ། གལ་ཏེ་དེ་ལྟ་བདེན་ན་གནོད་པའི་ལྟས་ཆེན་པོ་ཡིན་ཏེ། འོན་ཀྱང་རྒྱལ་པོའི་བཀའ་བཅག་ཏུ་མི་རུང་ངོ་ཞེས་བསྒོའོ། །དེ་ནས་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་སྲུང་བའི་ལྷས་བྲམ་ཟེ་དེ་ནང་དུ་བཏང་བ་དང་། བློན་པོ་ཟླ་བ་ཆེན་པོས་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་སྣ་བདུན་ལས་བྱས་པའི་མགོ་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་བྱིན་ཏེ་རྒྱལ་པོའི་མགོ་བསླུས་ཀྱང་མ་ཕན་པར་རྒྱལ་པོའི་དབུ་བསླངས་སོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་དགའ་ནས་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ཞག་བདུན་ན་བགྱི་བར་ཁས་བླངས་སོ། །དེར་བློན་པོ་ཟླ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་དང་ས་འཛིན་ཡང་མྱ་ངན་གྱིས་སྙིང་གས་ཏེ་ཚེ་འཕོས་ནས་ཚངས་པའི་འཇིག་ རྟེན་ཏུ་སྐྱེས་སོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་དེས་ཡུལ་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ་དྲིལ་བསྒྲགས་ཏེ་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཟླ་འོད་ཀྱིས་དབུ་སྦྱིན་པ་ལ་ལྟ་བར་འདོད་པ་རྣམས་ཤོག་ཅེས་བསྒོའོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་རྒྱལ་ཕྲན་ཐམས་ཅད་འདུས་ནས་དབུ་མི་སྦྱིན་པར་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་ཀྱང་ཟློག་ཏུ་མ་བཏུབ་པར་རང་གི་དབུ་ལས་ཅོད་པན་ཕུད་པ་ན་འཛམ་གླིང་གི་མི་རྣམས་ཀྱི་མགོའི་ཅོད་པན་ས་ལ་ལྷུང་ངོ་། །དེ་ནས་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་དེའི་རྒྱབ་ཀྱི་ནོར་བུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་སྙིང་པོ་ཞེས་བྱ་བའི་སྐྱེད་མོས་ཚལ་དུ་དབུ་ཙམ་པ་ཀའི་ཤིང་ལ་བཏགས་ཏེ་མགོ་ཆོད་ལ་ངའི་ལག་ཏུ་བཞག་སྟེ་དེ་ནས་ལོངས་ཤིག །བདག་གི་སྦྱིན་པ་འདིས་སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་དོན་དུ་བླ་མེད་རྫོགས་པའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་འདོད་དོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་ནས། བྲམ་ཟེ་དེས་རལ་གྲིས་གཅོད་པར་གཟས་པ་དང་། ཤིང་གི་ལྷ་དེས་བྲམ་ཟེ་ལ་ཐལ་མོ་གཅིག་བསྣུན་པས་འགྱེལ་ཏེ། རྒྱལ་པོས་ཤིང་གི་ལྷ་ལ་སྨྲས་པ། སྔོན་འདས་པའི་དུས་ན་ཡང་ངས་ཤིང་འདི་ལས་མགོ་དགུ་བརྒྱ་དང་དགུ་བཅུ་གོ་དགུ་སྙེད་ཀྱི་སྦྱིན་པ་བྱས་ཏེ། དེ་འདིས་མགོ་སྟོང་གི་སྦྱིན་པ་ཚང་བས་ན། ངའི་སྦྱིན་པའི་ཕར་ཕྱིན་དང་བླ་མེད་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་བར་ཆད་མ་བྱེད་ཅེས་བསྒོ་བས་ལྷ་དེས་བྲམ་ཟེ་དེ་སླར་སོར་ཆུད་པར་བྱས་ཏེ། རྒྱལ་པོས་སྨོན་ལམ་ཆེན་པོ་བཏབ་ནས་བྲམ་ཟེ་དེས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་དབུ་བཅད་དོ། །དེ་ཚེ་འཕོས་ནས་དགེ་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ལྷར་སྐྱེས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་ས་རྣམ་པ་དྲུག་ཏུ་གཡོས་ཤིང་མི་དང་ལྷ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་མཆི་མ་ཆར་བཞིན་དུ་བབ་ཅིང་ལྷའི་མེ་ཏོག་ལ་སོགས་པའི་ཆར་ཀྱང་བབས་སོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་ཟླ་ འོད་ཀྱིས་དབུ་བྱིན་པས་སྦྱིན་པའི་ཕར་ཕྱིན་རྫོགས་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ་ཞེས་གྲགས་པ་ཆེན་པོས་ས་སྟེང་ཁྱབ་པ་རྒྱལ་པོ་བྱི་མ་སེ་ནས་ཐོས་ནས་མི་དགའ་བར་སྙིང་གས་ཏེ་ཚེ་འཕོས་སོ། །བྲམ་ཟེས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་དབུ་ཁྱེར་བ་དང་། རྒྱལ་ཕྲན་དང་བློན་པོ་བཙུན་མོ་སོགས་མི་ཐམས་ཅད་ཆོ་ངེས་བཏབ་སྟེ། ཁ་ཅིག་ཚེ་འཕོས། ཁ་ཅིག་མི་དྲན་པར་མྱོས། ཁ་ཅིག་རང་གིས་གདོང་འབྲད་ཅིང་སྐྲ་འབལ་ཞིང་ས་ལ་འགྲེའོ། །བྲམ་ཟེ་དེ་ལམ་དུ་ཞུགས་པ་ན་ཀུན་གྱིས་སྤྱོ་ཞིང་

Now, with the intention of performing further virtuous acts, he proclaimed the donation of all the contents of his treasury. He satisfied everyone's desires for food, clothing, jewels, medicine, and so forth. He made everyone as comfortable and happy as the king himself. At that time, the king's fame spread throughout the land. There, a small border king named Bima Sena became envious. He thought, "If this King Moonlight is not eliminated, his reputation will overshadow my name and merits, eclipsing me. How can I get rid of him?" He inquired of the wandering priests. They replied, "King Moonlight cherishes all beings like a parent, so we cannot harm him." Displeased, that king announced, "Whoever beheads King Moonlight and brings his head to me will receive half of my kingdom and my daughter in marriage." A Brahmin named Violent Eyes, who lived in the mountains, heard this and said, "I will do it." Having said this, he recited mantras for seven days to protect his body, then took provisions from the king and set out on his journey. At that time, many inauspicious omens occurred in King Moonlight's land, such as earthquakes and falling stars. The ministers had bad dreams. Then, the goddess guarding the city gate made the Brahmin drunk and confused, preventing him from entering. Afterward, a god from the Pure Abode encouraged King Moonlight in a dream to perfect the pāramitā of generosity. Then, the king sent the minister Great Moon, instructing him not to stop anyone coming through the city gate, but to let them enter. Great Moon went to the gate, and the gate-guarding goddess revealed herself, saying, "This Brahmin from another country has come with malicious intent to take the king's head, so I did not let him in." The minister said, "If that is true, it is a great omen of harm. However, the king's command cannot be broken." So he ordered that the Brahmin be allowed to pass. After that, the city-guarding

The king was pleased and promised to do so in seven days. Then, the minister Great Moon and Earth Holder also died of grief and were reborn in the world of Brahma. That king proclaimed to all the lands, saying, 'Let all who wish to see King Moonlight give his head come!' At that time, all the petty kings gathered and begged him not to give his head, but they could not stop him. When he took off his crown from his head, the crowns of all the people of Jambudvipa fell to the ground. Then, in the pleasure garden called Jewel Essence behind that city, he tied his head to a champaka tree and said, 'Cut off my head and place it in my hand, and then take it! With this giving, I desire the unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings.' Having said this, the Brahmin took up his sword to cut him, and the tree god struck the Brahmin with one palm, causing him to fall. The king said to the tree god, 'In the past, I have given nine hundred and ninety-nine heads from this tree. This completes the giving of a thousand heads. Do not obstruct my giving paramita and unsurpassed enlightenment.' Having thus admonished him, the god restored the Brahmin to his former state. After the king made a great aspiration, the Brahmin cut off the king's head. At that time, he passed away and was reborn as the god of increasing virtue. At that time, the earth shook in six ways, and the tears of men and gods fell like rain, and rain of heavenly flowers and the like also fell. The great fame that King Moonlight had perfected the paramita of giving by giving his head spread across the earth, and King Bima Sena heard of it and was displeased, his heart broke, and he died. The Brahmin took the king's head, and all the petty kings, ministers, queens, and others wailed. Some died, some fainted from grief, some scratched their faces, tore their hair, and fell to the ground. As the Brahmin went on his way, everyone reviled him.
