Appearance and craftsmanship, diligence can also obtain wealth. People's good and happy qualities, wisdom can obtain everything. After saying this, the young Sonam Tob smiled as usual and said: If one is separated from wisdom, then appearance, craftsmanship, and diligence are not the key points of practice. Only when completely grasped by wisdom will there be results, and the key points of practice are true. However, wisdom cannot be obtained without merit. Therefore, only merit is the key point of practice for people. So-called merit is the only fruit that brings joy, and it is also the lord of poverty, joy, wish fulfillment, and suitable fruits. Merits cannot be fully described, but in order for you to understand, I will only say a part: with merit, one can obtain beauty; with merit, one can possess discipline; with merit, one can obtain glory; and similarly, one can become wealthy. With merit, one can obtain wisdom. And so on, praises are endless. However, they each insist on their own views and do not accept the views of others. After that, Sonam Tob said: Alas, let us quickly go to other places, and if we hide our identities, then we will know which is more important: appearance, diligence, craftsmanship, wisdom, or merit. After that, those young people did not inform their father, and without hesitation, they went to very distant other countries and regions, entered the king's palace and other places, and hid their identities. The one with appearance, because of his charming appearance, is supported by the remaining enjoyments of the people who are gathered. The diligent one, seeing the turbulent, fast, and deep river, is afraid. The huge sandalwood tree that others cannot move, he moves with the power of diligence, and then sells it, living on the proceeds. The one with craftsmanship also lives on the utensils made from craftsmanship. The one with wisdom, with his wisdom, mediates between two merchants who have been arguing for a long time, satisfying them, and living solely on the wealth they give. The young Sonam Tob then proclaims the greatness of his accumulated merit.

后来，进入一个非常贫穷的人的家中。当他白天进入那家时，凭借他的福德力，那家变得非常富有，充满了财富、谷物、金银。那个穷人非常高兴，心想：这前所未有的财富，是因为这个人进入我的家中的缘故啊！他让那个穷人随意享用那些财物，于是变得富有了。那个穷人也心想：对于这位以福德著称的年轻人，理应恭敬对待，于是不断地恭敬他。之后，因为一个前所未有的年轻人来到那个穷人的家中，那家变得兴旺发达，所以很多人都喜欢福德的力量，并且特别赞颂福德的力量。在那片土地上，也因为年轻人的力量，火果树繁茂生长，适时降雨，所以谷物丰收。很多人高兴地观看，那时年轻人心想：如果我能有一个充满各种珍宝、具备各种生活用具、拥有令人满意的仆人和工人的房子，就好了。刚一这么想，就突然实现了。看到这些，很多人都非常惊奇，珍视福德，并且非常恭敬福德的力量。福德的力量也知道他们高兴，于是用四摄法恰如其分地摄受了他们。某个时候，另一个国王，因为服用了毒药，受到伤害的人被刽子手砍断了肢体。身体流着血肉，口渴难耐的那个人说：年轻人，救救我！于是生起了慈悲心，从自己的身体里抽出血来喂他，止息了他的口渴。砍断了自己的手脚，把它们接在那人的手脚的位置上。仰望天空，以慈爱之心对待一切众生，发誓说：凭借我从出生以来，不记得做过任何不善之事的真诚和誓言，愿我的手脚恢复到这个人的位置上！恢复到和以前一样的身体！就这样以真诚加持了。

Later, he entered the home of a very poor man. When he entered that home during the day, through the power of his merit, that home became very wealthy, filled with riches, grains, gold, and silver. That poor man was extremely happy, thinking, 'This unprecedented wealth is because this person entered my home!' He allowed that poor man to enjoy those possessions as he pleased, and so he became wealthy. The poor man also thought, 'This young man, who is renowned for his merit, deserves to be treated with respect,' and so he constantly showed him respect. Afterwards, because an unprecedented young man came to that poor man's home, the home became prosperous, so many people rejoiced in the power of merit and especially praised the power of merit. In that land, also through the power of the young man, the fire-fruit trees grew luxuriantly, and rain fell in due season, so the grains were abundant. Many people happily watched, and then the young man thought, 'If I could have a house filled with all kinds of precious things, equipped with all kinds of living utensils, and with pleasing servants and workers, that would be wonderful.' As soon as he thought this, it suddenly happened. Seeing this, many people were greatly astonished, cherished merit, and showed great respect for the power of merit. The power of merit also knew that they were happy, and so it gathered them appropriately with the four objects of gathering. At one time, another king, because he had taken poison, a person who had been harmed had his limbs cut off by executioners. That person, whose body was bleeding flesh and who was parched with thirst, said, 'Young man, save me!' Then he generated a compassionate mind, drew blood from his own body and fed it to him, quenching his thirst. He cut off his own limbs and joined them to the places of that person's limbs. Looking up at the sky, with a loving heart towards all beings, he vowed, 'By the truth and the vow that since I was born, I do not remember having done any unwholesome deed, may my limbs return to this person's place! May he return to the same body as before!' Thus he blessed him with truth.

Therefore, seeing that person weakened by unbearable pain, I thought of turning that pain into my own feeling, so I gave up my limbs and prayed with sincere words, so that the person returned to his original state. After that, the hundred gods were very surprised and showed their own form, asking: When you gave up your limbs, did you not regret it in your heart? The young man said: Kauśika (藏文，梵文天城体，梵文罗马拟音，汉语字面意思), I have no regrets. The hundred gods said: How could that be? The young man said: Kauśika (藏文，梵文天城体，梵文罗马拟音，汉语字面意思), then let's do it with the power of truth, he has a loving heart for all sentient beings, when he cuts off his limbs, if I have no regrets, then let that truth make my body return to its original state. Later, the king of that country died without a son, and the queen's entourage, ministers, and people of the city gathered together to discuss, who should we enthrone as king? Some said: We should enthrone the one who is known to have great merit as king. Everyone agreed. So they searched for a sentient being suitable to be king, and at that time, Prince Fortitude was also driven by the karma of his previous life to become king, and at that time, the autumn harvest friends
