Having done that, he said pleasant words, "Where have you come from? Have you not been troubled or tired on the way? What do you desire?" The Brahmin said, "I have come from a long way, my whole body is exhausted and tired, and I am hungry and thirsty." After saying this, he led him into the hut and had him sit on a mat. He placed fruits, berries, and drinks in front of him. The Brahmin ate and drank, and then suddenly said, "I am a man from a place called Kole. I have long heard that the prince is fond of giving alms, and his name is known in all directions. I am poor and destitute, so I have come to beg from the prince." The prince said, "If I do not give you what I have, and become attached and greedy, then what do I have? I have given everything away before, so now I have nothing to give." The Brahmin said, "If that is the case, and there are no riches to give, then give me your two children, brother and sister, to be slaves for this old man." He said this three times, and the prince also said, "Since you have come from a long way, I will gladly give you these two children as you desire." At that time, the two children, brother and sister, were playing. The prince called them over and said to his son, "This Brahmin has come from a long way to beg for you two. I have already given you two away, so you two should go after him." Hearing this, the two children ran into the prince's arms and cried, saying, "Although I have seen many Brahmins, I have never seen one like this. This is not a Brahmin, but a flesh-eating Yaksha. Our mother has gone to pick fruits and has not yet returned. If we two are given as food to this Yaksha, we will surely die. If our mother returns and does not find her children, she will cry and wail like a cow separated from its calf, and will be tormented by grief." The prince admonished his son, "I have already promised to give alms, so it cannot be taken back. He is a Brahmin, not a Yaksha, and will not eat people. You two should go after him." The Brahmin said, "Now I will leave. If the children's mother comes and does not let the children go, I fear that the prince's good intention in giving to me will be thwarted and lost by the children's mother." The prince said, "I"
