I spoke a little, and the prince saw from afar a monkey wiping the blood with tree leaves and then leading it to the water's edge to wash it. At that time, in a place called Kele, a poor Brahmin took a wife at the age of forty. The wife was: Extremely beautiful and attractive, but the Brahmin had twelve extremely ugly characteristics: his skin was as black as coal, he had three bumps on his face, his nose was twisted, his eyes moved like glass, his face was wrinkled, his lips drooped, his voice was unpleasant, his belly was large, his buttocks were protruding, his legs were crooked, his head was bald and hairless, and he was as ugly as a demon. The wife also often cursed, saying that it would be easier to die than to see him. Another time, the wife went to fetch water, and on the way, she met a group of young men, who mocked her, saying, 'Is this what a housewife looks like?' Then they laughed and said, 'You are so beautiful and attractive, how can you be such a wife?' The wife said to those men: 'The old man's head is as gray as moss growing on a tree. He would rather die at night, but he cannot die. What should I do?' Then she took the water pot and returned home, saying to her husband: 'I went to fetch water, and on the way, I met a group of young men, who mocked me and ridiculed me. Now, if you have servants to use, I will not need to fetch water ten times, and I will not be ridiculed by others.' The husband said: 'We are very poor, how can we find servants?' The wife said: 'If you do not seek servants for me, I will leave and no longer live with you.' The wife also said: 'She heard that Prince Dondrup (Prince Vessantara) is fond of giving, so he was banished by his father to a place called Ridantik. It is said that he has a son and a daughter. Go and beg from him.' The husband said: 'It is more than six thousand yojanas from here to a place called Ridantik. I have never traveled there before, so how can I travel now?' The wife said: 'If you do not seek servants for me, I will hang myself and die.' The husband said: 'Okay, I will go alone.'

Even dying is easy, I don't want you to die, so please prepare provisions and necessities for me to go begging! The wife said: Go now, there is nothing like provisions and necessities. The Brahmin prepared the provisions himself, set out on the road on foot and left. He went to a place called Yava. He asked the gatekeeper of the king's palace where Prince Dondup was now. The gatekeeper went inside and reported this to the king. Hearing this, he became angry and agitated, like adding wood to a fire. He thought: It is all because of people like this that I let my son leave, and now he has come to beg again, and he was not happy. The Brahmin reported: It is said that the fame of the crown prince Dondup's generosity has reached the depths of heaven and water, so I have come from a long way with hope. The king said: Prince Dondup is now living in a remote mountain, very poor and has nothing, what can he give you? The Brahmin said: Even if the prince has nothing, I am happy to meet him. The king also ordered others to show him the way, and the Brahmin left. After leaving, he went to the big river at the foot of Mount Dantika. With only the prince in his mind, he crossed the river. After that, the Brahmin first met a hunter on that mountain and asked: Have you seen a person named Prince Dondup on this mountain? The hunter knew that the prince liked to give alms, and that he had left the mountain because of Brahmins like this, so the hunter grabbed the Brahmin, tied him to a tree and beat him, and he was also injured. The hunter also said: What are you doing asking the prince? Are you going to shoot an arrow? The Brahmin thought: Now he is definitely going to kill me, I might as well tell a lie, so he said: What is wrong with you asking me? The hunter thought: What is he saying? So he asked him. The Brahmin said: The father king is happy to see the prince, so I have come here to invite the prince back. As soon as he finished speaking, the hunter untied him and let him go, saying that he didn't know or understand before, please forgive him, and pointed out where the prince was. After that, the Brahmin went to the prince, and the prince greeted him from afar with a joyful and respectful heart.
