The prince replied, "Because we had previously sworn that whatever we gave as alms would not be violated, so I did not report it to you." The king said, "The oath refers to property and so on, what does the woolly mammoth count for?" The prince said, "Everything is the king's property, so why doesn't the woolly mammoth count?" The king said, "You go to Mount Ridantika and be banished there for twelve years, go quickly!" The prince said, "If I do not disobey the king's order, I would like to make offerings for seven more days, fulfill my wish, and then leave." The king said, "No, go!" The prince said, "I will not disobey your order." Then, twenty thousand consorts requested the king to allow the crown prince to make offerings for seven days, and the king agreed. The prince sent servants to collect alms from all directions and gave them away extensively. After that, the prince said to his wife, "The king has announced that I am to be banished to a place called Ridantika for twelve years." His wife said, "Let us pray for happiness and peace in the king's land, and then we will go to the mountains to practice together." The prince said, "That mountain is a terrible place, difficult to reach, and full of fierce beasts, are you afraid? You have always lived a comfortable life, can you endure that kind of life? In the palace, everything is comfortable and convenient, and food and clothing are plentiful. Why do you like to go to the mountains to cut grass and eat wild fruits? Furthermore, there are wind and hail, cold and heat, stones and gravel, snakes, and so on, can you endure that?" Mante replied, "What do I need soft and comfortable clothes and sweet food for? I cannot bear to be separated from you, I am happy to go with you. I trust the prince and will be your companion." The prince said, "I like to give alms and cannot refuse the requests of beggars. Even if they beg for my children or you, I cannot refuse. If you hinder my good deeds, then you should not go." Mante said, "If the prince is going to give alms"

If the gods do not go against my wishes, may my son return to his homeland. At that time, Queen Ni Chi offered a string of pearl necklaces, and four thousand ministers offered lotus flowers made of the seven treasures as gifts to the prince. The prince came out of the palace and went to the north gate of the city, and gave all the flowers and necklaces to all the people who had gathered. Tens of thousands of people in that country saw the prince off, thinking: This one is so kind, like the guardian deity of the country, why abandon him? Everyone felt regret. The prince expressed his joy to the people who were seeing him off, and then asked them to return. After that, the prince himself drove the carriage and went far away. When he was resting under a tree, a Brahmin begged for the horse pulling the carriage, and the prince gave it to him. Then the prince pulled the carriage himself, and the queen pushed it from behind. Another Brahmin came to beg for the carriage, and the prince gave it to him as well, so they walked on foot. After that, another Brahmin came to beg, and the prince had no possessions left, so he gave him the precious clothes he was wearing and put on an old garment and continued walking. Another Brahmin came, and the prince gave him the queen's clothes. After that, another Brahmin came, and the prince gave him his own clothes and the prince's clothes. In this way, even though he had given everything away, he had no regrets. The prince carried his son, and the queen carried her daughter, and they walked happily. They still had to go to a place called Ritantika, which was a long way away, a thousand yojanas. They came to a remote monastery and felt hungry and thirsty. At this time, the King of the Gods transformed that monastery into a beautiful city, and the people welcomed the prince and treated them with food, drink, and comfortable utensils. The queen said to the prince that she was very tired from walking such a long way.
