Eighty-four thousand cities, including cities like Ra. Eighty-four thousand wish-fulfilling trees of precious jewels. Eighty-four thousand clusters of precious flowers. Eighty-four thousand umbrellas of the seven precious substances. Eighty-four thousand great ceremonial robes befitting a king. Eighty-four thousand strings of precious jewels. Eighty-four thousand precious birds, animals, and cooling fans. Eighty-four thousand portions of medicinal essence. And also decorations, small drums, musical instruments, rings, bracelets, cushions, bedding, drums, conches, bells, victory banners, pleasure gardens, butter lamp bowls, and so forth, were all offered to the Buddha. I have many affairs to attend to, so please, Bhagavan, forgive me, and please reside and be pleased in this garden. In order to behold the Bhagavan, and in order to pay homage and make offerings, I will also come. Thus he requested. The thousand sons of King Ribs of the Circumference, each requested to offer to the Bhagavan and his retinue for three months in the manner of a king, and they were granted permission. At that time, the Brahmin Ocean Dust, wandering throughout Jambudvipa, by means of begging for food from all the people, guided them to take refuge and generate the supreme mind of enlightenment. The young prince Unblinking Eye and, the Assembly of Powers and, Without Afflictions and, Fearless and, Space and, Limb Born and, Accomplished, and so forth, a thousand in number, each offered for three months as King Ribs of the Circumference had done, and after that offered eighty-four thousand golden wheels and all the other necessities, offering no less than that. Having made such generosity, some of them wished to become Indra. Similarly, others wished to become Brahma, a Universal Monarch, one with great wealth, and practitioners of the Hearer Vehicle. They made offerings to the Buddha and his retinue for two hundred and fifty years, and finally requested forgiveness. Then, the chief of the guides, the Brahmin Ocean Dust, came, and with all the necessary items such as clothing and food, for seven years he offered to the Tathagata Jewel Heart and his retinue.

Having invited the monastic community of monks, he made offerings with all the abundant provisions, just as King Wheel had been venerated. Then, at another time, the Brahmin Ocean Dust had this kind of thought: 'Although I have caused hundreds of millions of beings to attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, this King Wheel, I do not know whether he desires the kingdom of gods and humans, or the vehicle of solitary realizers, or desires unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. I do not know what kind of aspiration he desires. If I desire unsurpassed perfect enlightenment and liberate all sentient beings, then what does this king desire in his mind? Will gods, nagas, yakshas, or some Buddhas, shravakas, or brahmins tell me in a dream?' There, in the dream of that Brahmin, he saw Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River in the ten directions. Those Buddhas gave to that Brahmin lotuses whose petals were gold, stems were silver, stamens were lapis lazuli, and filaments were made of the essence of jewels. On all those lotuses, mandalas of the sun were completely visible. Above those suns, parasols of the seven precious substances were completely situated. From each sun mandala, sixty billion rays of light arose, and all those rays of light entered the mouth of that Brahmin. He saw his own body become as large as a thousand yojanas, completely pure like a clean mirror mandala. Inside his body, sixty billion hundred million bodhisattvas were sitting in the lotus posture on lotuses, meditating. He also saw those forms of the sun become garlands and fences on his head, and the parasols were in the sky above, situated up to the end of the Brahma realm. Around him, there were various kinds of lotuses, and from those lotuses, sounds of divine instruments beyond human capabilities arose, and sounds could also be heard. Then, King Wheel, his body smeared with blood, transformed into the face of a pig, running and eating many beings. After eating, he lay down and rested under the castor oil tree, and there were beings...

Various things came and ate the king, until only bones remained and were discarded. Then flesh grew back, turning into a pig's face, eating others, and so on, happening again and again as before. Furthermore, some princes had pig's faces, some had elephant's faces. Likewise, buffalo, lion, wolf, fox, dog, monkey faces, their bodies soaked in blood, eating many animals, sitting under the Eranda tree. Many animals ate the bones until only bones remained. Again, they ate each other as before, and so on, were seen. Some princes were adorned with nasal flowers, riding buffalo carts, embarking on a wrong path, looking to the right and seeing a pit. Indra, Brahma, and the world protectors also came and said to the Brahmin: 'Hey Brahmin, from among the lotuses around you, first offer one lotus to the king. Then give each of these princes one lotus each. Give the rest to the kings of the regions and other people.' Hearing these words, he distributed lotuses as instructed by the gods, and then woke up. He got up from the bed, remembering the dream, and thought: Some kings and princes enjoy inferior samsaric pleasures, riding buffalo carts on the wrong path, some princes desire the Hearer Vehicle. Seeing the great light and the Buddhas is a sign that I have placed the beings of Jambudvipa on the three objects of merit. I have placed the people of Jambudvipa on virtue, and invited the Buddhas and their retinue for seven years, therefore I saw the great light and the Buddhas of the ten directions, and offered lotuses. I made aspirations for unsurpassed Bodhi, so those Buddhas offered me parasols. I saw the images of the sun in those lotuses, those rays entered my mouth, the body became huge, the images of the sun were arranged like a rosary, Bodhisattvas sat in the belly meditating on lotuses, Indra and others distributed these lotuses, and said give them and so on, that is the reason.
