Having cleaned and arranged something as wide as Mount Sumeru, the merit of filling Buddha-fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River with such a body, like sugarcane groves, reed groves, or fields of rice and sesame, is surpassed by the merit of any Bodhisattva who, through understanding, realizes the nature of the Tathagata's body as emptiness. Even enduring to contemplate profoundly on just a pore's worth, that one generates great merit. Moreover, if someone abides in the aggregate of discipline, upholds one verse of four lines, understands its meaning, and even teaches it to just one sentient being, that one generates even greater merit. Thus it is said. Someone who fills worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges with supreme jewels and offers them to the Victor with a supremely joyful mind, compared to someone who gives one verse to one sentient being, the gift of jewels, though extremely vast, cannot compare to the gift of a verse accomplished with compassion, which is like rain and cannot be counted. How could one even consider two or three? Thus and so forth, it is widely spoken. In the middle of the right hand of Maitreya Tathagata, there is a manifest radiance called "Adorned with the Concordant Cause of Manifestly Accomplishing All Merits." If the Tathagata wishes, this light can illuminate the entirety of this great thousandfold world system, accomplishing all the implements of happiness for all sentient beings, bestowing food, clothing, jewels, and whatever else is desired. However, by that alone, sentient beings will not be liberated from the beginningless and endless ocean of samsara, the place occupied by the crocodiles of suffering. Therefore, I abandoned such worldly implements of happiness and, for the sake of happiness beyond the world, truly teach the precious Dharma, and upon hearing this Dharma, the suffering of sentient beings will be completely pacified. Maitreya, therefore, you too should learn by following me, and should not be attached to worldly things, but should be attached to the Dharma. Maitreya, thus Bodhisattvas should liberate themselves and others, and likewise, liberation, relief, and nirvana.

In order to prevent all sentient beings from creating karma. On the surface of the world, including the gods, the work, burden, and needs of a Bodhisattva are so numerous that they are not seen in any other sentient beings. For example, carrying the mountains, seas, forests, and so on of a great thousandfold world on one's head or shoulders, and lifting them without rest for a million kalpas, this burden is great, and that person has great power and enthusiasm. However, to lead sentient beings to enter the bliss of Nirvana is a greater burden, and greater enthusiasm and power are required. For whom, the power to completely accomplish all the karma of all sentient beings in a great thousandfold world, merely by belonging to Segola, is even greater than saying, "Liberate sentient beings from the suffering of Samsara" and putting it into action. For example, a householder has only one beloved son. The king said: Householder, from here, go to a certain city a hundred thousand yojanas away, for this matter, in seven days, and then return to me. If so, I will give you your son, wife, retinue, and all your possessions, and also give you half of the kingdom. If you depart from that city and do not return in seven days and nights, not only will I not give you anything, but you and your son, wife, and retinue will be sentenced to death. If so commanded, that householder goes with strength and swift action, and until the matter is accomplished, does not give rise to a mind of distraction, food, drowsiness, or sleep. Even if he possesses such great diligence, he cannot approach even one percent of the great diligence of a Bodhisattva, nor can he even be compared to it. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva turns all sentient beings who are driven in the direction of Samsara away from Samsara and places them in the immovable realm of Nirvana. For example, like this, a person with strength, born with the ability to turn the accumulation of water from the four great oceans away from the trend of flowing into the ocean and put it into an unheated sea, this is more difficult and wondrous than that.
