I have arisen without defilement, and many beings such as monks and nuns, as well as gods, have obtained forbearance of the unarisen dharma. Even more beings than that have generated the mind of perfect enlightenment in order to become irreversible. This world and countless, immeasurable, inexpressible, and even more inexpressible Buddhafields also shook in six ways. By the power of the gods and bodhisattvas, the sky was filled and expanded with various clouds of offerings to Vajrapani. Brahma, Indra, Vishnu, and all the beings of the world bowed down to the Bhagavan and took vows. Thus it was said. From the King of Tantras, the Glorious Essence of Wisdom Bindu: Vajrapani, the great protector, is the lord of all Vajradharas, the cause of the arising and destruction of limitless realms. In him, there is no arising whatsoever; he is the supreme, self-born sovereign. The vajra in his hand is the twelve unborn wisdoms. From the first five points arise the five Tathagatas. From the end arise the five great elements, and from the center arise the six classes of beings. For the sake of protecting all views, he acts in various forms. Sometimes as Vajradhara, sometimes as the form of a Buddha, sometimes as the form of Heruka, sometimes as a Tathagata, sometimes as a Bodhisattva, sometimes as the form of a Hearer, sometimes as the joyful lotus of teaching, sometimes he dwells in the manner of reading. Sometimes he composes tantras and treatises, and sometimes he holds them. What need is there to say more? He is the victorious Vajrapani. Thus it was said. The third chapter, which tells of the realization of the glorious Vajradhara. Homage to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the great being, the protector Maitreya. I offer and take refuge. From the Mahayana Sutra called "The Holy Maitreya's Entry": The Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya has long practiced pure conduct, served the victorious ones of the past, accumulated roots of virtue, and possessed profound patience. Maitreya has truly entered into practice and has passed eighty-four thousand kalpas

The primordial teacher, Shakyamuni, generated the mind of enlightenment. That was in the past, immeasurable and inconceivable eons ago, a Buddha named Golden Excellent Light appeared in the world. His golden light constantly illuminated the realms of the world. At that time, this Maitreya was the sovereign of the four continents, a wheel-turning king named Golden Hue. He offered all kinds of offerings and services to the Buddha Golden Excellent Light and the great Bodhisattva Sangha for eighty-four billion years. Brahma, Indra, and the four Great Kings also served there. That king served with a courtyard of eighty yojanas adorned with priceless jewels and offerings that were exceedingly beautiful and inconceivable. At the end, the golden king wondered: Should I dedicate my roots of virtue entirely to Indra, Brahma, or to attain the state of a wheel-turning king? Knowing his thoughts, the Buddha Golden Excellent Light emanated a Tathagata identical to himself in the space before him and said in verse: Brahma and others are impermanent and unstable, do not desire inferior states, but generate the supreme mind of enlightenment with immeasurable qualities that benefit all sentient beings. Hearing this, the golden king generated the supreme mind of enlightenment and asked the Buddha: How can one attain the supreme nectar-like enlightenment easily through the path of bliss, without suffering through countless eons of giving up heads, limbs, and so on? The Buddha said to that king: The mind of enlightenment increases immeasurable merit, and relying on diligence that does not abandon vows, love, and commitments, one can attain enlightenment through the path of bliss without the difficulty of giving up the body and so on. That king renounced and practiced celibacy for tens of thousands of years, attained clairvoyance, and perfected vast learning. He also cultivated the Samadhi of Maitreya. Through that root of virtue and sincere aspiration, he became a wheel-turning king, pleasing twenty thousand Buddhas, and from them
