It allows the breath to be regulated. Possessing a mind of compassion, a mind of happiness, a mind of loving-kindness, and a mind of mercy, and fulfilling all wishes, therefore it is called Avalokiteśvara. Vajrapani asked: World Honored One, merely the name of Avalokiteśvara, whoever remembers it, will also have all wishes fulfilled. Thus it was said. ༈. In the One Hundred and Eight Names of Avalokiteśvara, it is said: Whoever constantly desires happiness, should constantly praise Avalokiteśvara, the lord of all beings, born from the lotus. Thus it was said. The second chapter, on the realization of the noble compassionate lord. ༈. Homage to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Vajrapani. Offering, refuge. The secret lord Vajrapani, who holds the treasury of all the secrets of the body, speech, and mind of the Tathagata, is of an inconceivable nature. It is said in the Inconceivable Secrets of the Jewel Heap Sutra: On the right side of the World Honored One, Vajrapani stands holding a vajra. The Bodhisattva Peaceful Wisdom said to the Secret Lord: You are the close attendant of the Tathagata, and since you dwell in the secret place of the Tathagata, having transcended the realm of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, let alone the place that ordinary beings can reach, please declare it. Shakyamuni Buddha also urged Vajrapani to declare it as such, and the Secret Lord said: Since the World Honored One was a Bodhisattva in the past, after the prediction of Dipamkara Buddha, I have been serving the Bodhisattva, therefore, regarding the secrets of the Bodhisattva's body, speech, and mind, the part that I have seen is like this, and with this I have benefited countless beings. At that time, some Bodhisattvas in the retinue thought: Where did the Secret Lord, who possesses such great power, plant the roots of virtue? How many Buddhas did he serve and make offerings to? What kind of vows did he make to become like this? The World Honored One then taught: In the past,

In an immeasurable and inconceivable number of eons, in an eon called Beautiful Appearance, in a world called Completely Adorned, there appeared a Tathagata named Immeasurable Qualities, Jewel Array King. At that time, his lifespan was thirty-six trillion years. People also did not die prematurely. That world was extremely prosperous and happy, and beings had little affliction and possessed the power to understand well-spoken words. In that world, the four continents called Beautiful Appearance were extremely prosperous and happy, with spacious boundaries. There was a palace city called Purely Adorned, adorned with great wealth, where the wheel-turning king Dhṛtarāṣṭra, who ruled over the four continents, was non-retrogressing from unsurpassed enlightenment. He had seven hundred thousand consorts like precious jewels, and a thousand sons who were brave and possessed excellent limbs, all of whom had entered into complete enlightenment. At that time, the Blessed One, Immeasurable Qualities, Jewel Array King, together with the community of monks, resided in the king's palace, which was endowed with pure adornment. King Dhṛtarāṣṭra attended to him for a full billion years with all pleasing enjoyments, and by being mindful, he listened to the Dharma and developed the divine clairvoyance. At that time, those young princes, for the sake of offering to their father Dhṛtarāṣṭra, built a vast and magnificent tiered mansion of celestial sandalwood and the essence of transformation, with a water width of ten yojanas, beautiful in appearance, and well-adorned. Even the entire Jambudvipa could not afford half a srang of that sandalwood. Then, King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, those princes, the retinue of consorts, and relatives entered that mansion, and with various offerings, they transformed themselves to travel in the sky above, and went to where the Buddha Immeasurable Qualities, Jewel Array King was. They placed the tiered mansion on the ground, prostrated to the Tathagata, and listened to the Dharma. The Tathagata, with the Dharma,

Having made him completely happy with kind words, the king offered all the kingdom to the Buddha. There, on a full moon day, when King Yulkhor Sung (Guardian of the Realm) was playing and rejoicing with a musical gathering in the pleasure garden, two consorts named Immaculate Chaste Mother and Unparalleled Mother, having bathed, were sitting on the auspicious lion throne lotus birth. On the laps of those two, two beautiful and delightful young princes appeared, feigning to be sitting in the lotus position. At that very moment, from the sky above, the gods uttered a sound, saying, 'Alas! This boy is one who thinks of Dharma! This is the wisdom of Dharma!' Thus, the names of the two boys became such. As soon as those two boys appeared, without breaking their lotus position, they recited verses of Dharma, descended from their mothers' laps, prostrated to their father, and urged him to go to the presence of the Thus-Gone One. Thus, the parents, together with their sons, went to the presence of the Buddha to listen to the Dharma, benefiting many sentient beings. Then, King Yulkhor Sung, being alone, sat inside a tiered house and thought: 'If these youths of mine have all entered into unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, I wonder who among them will attain Buddhahood first.' So, he wrote the names of those youths on vases of the seven precious substances, made offerings for seven days, and in front of the queen and the sons, had the names drawn out by a person inside. First, the name of the young prince called Perfectly Pure Wisdom appeared, and immediately the great earth shook and the cymbals sounded without being struck; that was the Thus-Gone One Corruption Destroyer. Similarly, the hosts named Supreme Victory, Peaceful Power, All Purposes Fulfilled, and Possessor of Lineage appeared in succession. Those were Golden Sage, Light Protector, the present teacher Shakyamuni, and the future Maitreya. Similarly, from the one named Supreme Wisdom to the one named Crown Ornamented, names lacking one to a thousand appeared. In order, they are from Buddha Lion to the Thus-Gone One of Limitless Qualities and Fame. The name of the youngest of all the princes was Wisdom Without End.
