Also, because there is nothing. Rab-byor said: How is taming? Said: Because of the way it abides, there is no leading even a little, and there is no not leading. Knowing as it abides, there is no arising, and there is no stopping. Knowing as equality, thus we have tamed. When those monks spoke this teaching, twelve hundred sons of gods, in all dharmas, obtained the pure Dharma eye, free from dust and defilement. Then, Rab-byor said to the Mara: How is a monk a worthy recipient of offerings? The Mara said: Rab-byor, when there is no taking, and no not taking, and believes, and also fully enjoys from all beliefs. So on and so forth. Shariputra said to the Mara: Which is the unperturbed samadhi spoken by the Bhagavan? Said: In whatever samadhi one abides, because of the extreme exhaustion, exhaustion does not make exhaustion. Because of the unoriginated nature, the unoriginated does not originate. Without experiencing, one does not make experience. Knowing that all dharmas have entered into equality by nature, and after knowing, entering equally into the cessation of all feelings, and also seeing equally, there is no seeing even a little, and there is no not seeing, this is the unperturbed samadhi spoken by the Bhagavan. Maudgalyayana's son said: How does a monk obtain mastery over all minds? Said: In all dharmas, knowing the mind as the characteristic of liberation, there is no attachment there, and because the mind is liberated from the beginning, it does not make bondage liberation. Because the mind is formless, ungrasping, and un abiding, knowing all dharmas as formless, ungrasping, and un abiding, and with the self-nature of the mind's essence, knowing all dharmas in the realm of Dharma, and with the self-nature of the essence of the realm of Dharma, obtaining the independence of not depending on others, that is, possessing the miraculous power of faith, is to obtain mastery over all minds. Ganga said: How does a monk teach the Dharma with complete purity? The Mara said: The monk who knows all dharmas from others, but also has no attachment to the minds of others and non-others. All dharmas are also proclaimed as fabricated. Knowing all paths of letters, sounds, tones, and words as like an echo in a valley.

See the listeners as illusory beings, and view their bodies as like the moon in water. Know that all afflictions arise from complete conceptualization. Do not teach the Dharma for the sake of grasping, abandoning, diligently practicing, or attaining any Dharma. Having obtained mastery over the four separate perfect knowledges, and without hope or defilement in the name of "separate," teach the Dharma, knowing that all beings' minds are likewise pure in nature, seeing the skandha-mara as empty. Perceive the klesha-mara as artificial, see the death-mara as unborn and abiding in the unborn, and the deva-putra-mara as having become free from all agitation and arrogance; such is teaching the Dharma in complete purity. Nearing Protector said: How does an evil person become a Vinaya-holding bhikshu? The Mara said: Venerable Nearing Protector, any bhikshu who knows that all dharmas are extremely subdued, knows the beginning and end of all faults to be empty, eliminates the regret of arising faults, and knows that sudden afflictions are like clouds and the moon in water, their nature not established, and thus neither eliminates afflictions nor cultivates non-affliction; those who improperly apply the mind are like darkness and thieves, etc., and by properly examining them, know that they have no place to go or abide, and have compassion for sentient beings who are afflicted; if one realizes the absence of self and beings, then one is called a true Vinaya-holder. Thus, the Mara, with a decisive answer to the questions of those Shravakas, made them all rejoice in their hearts. Then, the son of the gods, Good Boundary, said to the Mara: Manjushri has already spoken about the Mara's deeds of the Bodhisattvas, so you too should be courageous and speak. The Mara said: To rely on and honor yogic practitioners who desire liberation and are afraid of samsara is the work of Mara. To contemplate emptiness and abandon sentient beings is also the work of Mara. To separately contemplate the unconditioned and be completely weary of the virtues of the conditioned is also the work of Mara. Thus, the Tathagata praised, saying "Well done," upon the teaching of twenty excellent deeds of Mara, and those who, having heard these deeds of Mara, abandon them
