Starting with weapons, in any case, may the eyes of immeasurable sentient beings be completely purified, their minds completely liberated, may they generate patience, and enter into Bodhi. Thus, the Dharma was taught. At that time, the Bhagavan blessed those beings in that assembly who were beginners, had small roots of virtue, and had many conceptualizations, so that they could neither see the weapons nor hear the Dharma being taught. Then, the Venerable Shariputra said to Manjushri: "Manjushri, where will the terrible deed you have accumulated in order to kill the teacher ripen for you?" Manjushri said: "Venerable Shariputra, it is just so. If I have done such a bad deed, I do not know where it will ripen. However, wherever the deed of a magical person ripens, there my deed will also ripen. Why? Because a magical person is also impermanent and non-conceptual, and all dharmas are also non-conceptual and non-conceptual. Thus, I ask you, Venerable Shariputra, please explain as you endure it." Venerable, are weapons, actions, and ripening substantial? Shariputra said: "No, they are not." Manjushri said: "Venerable Shariputra, if there are no weapons, no actions, and no ripening, then where will the actions ripen?" Shariputra said: "Manjushri, according to what you have taught with your thought, the actions will not ripen anywhere. Why? Because all dharmas have no actions and no ripening." Then, Bodhisattvas who had gathered from the ten directions of the world systems requested the Bhagavan: "Please, out of compassion, allow this Manjushri, the youth, to go to our Buddha-fields and teach the Dharma." Then, Manjushri, the youth, said to those Bodhisattvas: "Sons of good family, each of you look at your own Buddha-fields." When they looked at their own Buddha-fields in all ten directions, from those fields, Manjushri, the youth,

Also heard the beautiful sounds of becoming musical instruments. In front of those Buddhas, Manjushri appeared as a youth, and the son of the gods, endowed with excellent wisdom, was teaching the Dharma to inquire about this very Dharma teaching. And there also saw Bodhisattvas and sons of gods gathering, therefore, Manjushri the Youth not only does not move from this Buddha-field, but also manifests in all places, it is truly wondrous, wondrous, and his heart was filled with a sense of wonder. Then, Manjushri spoke to those Bodhisattvas: Sons of good families, just as a magician or someone skilled in magic can conjure up various forms without leaving their seat in order to perform, so too, Bodhisattvas, if they are well-versed in the Perfection of Wisdom, can also conjure up emanations in as many Buddha-fields as they wish to manifest, just like performing magic. Why is that? Because this Dharma is understood to be like magic. Then, the Blessed One spoke to Manjushri, who had become a youth: Manjushri, hearing this Dharma teaching is like the appearance of a Buddha. Hearing this is like the fruit of entering the stream, the fruit of once-returning, the fruit of non-returning, and the very state of an Arhat. Whoever has faith and belief in this Dharma, and abides in the essence of Bodhi, is the same. Manjushri replied: Blessed One, it is just so, it is the same as emptiness (Tibetan: སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་,Sanskrit Devanagari: शून्यता,Sanskrit Romanization: shunyata, Literal Chinese meaning: emptiness), signlessness (Tibetan: མཚན་མ་མེད་པ་,Sanskrit Devanagari: अनिमित्त,Sanskrit Romanization: animitta, Literal Chinese meaning: signlessness), wishlessness (Tibetan: སྨོན་པ་མ་མཆིས་པ་,Sanskrit Devanagari: अप्राणिहित,Sanskrit Romanization: apranihita, Literal Chinese meaning: wishlessness), suchness (Tibetan: དེ་བཞིན་ཉིད་,Sanskrit Devanagari: तथाता,Sanskrit Romanization: tathata, Literal Chinese meaning: suchness), the realm of Dharma (Tibetan: ཆོས་ཀྱི་དབྱིངས་,Sanskrit Devanagari: धर्मधातु,Sanskrit Romanization: dharmadhatu, Literal Chinese meaning: the realm of Dharma), reality (Tibetan: ཡང་དག་པའི་མཐའ་,Sanskrit Devanagari: भूतकोटि,Sanskrit Romanization: bhutakoti, Literal Chinese meaning: reality), equality (Tibetan: མཉམ་པ་ཉིད་,Sanskrit Devanagari: समता,Sanskrit Romanization: samata, Literal Chinese meaning: equality), liberation (Tibetan: རྣམ་པར་གྲོལ་བ་,Sanskrit Devanagari: विमोक्ष,Sanskrit Romanization: vimoksha, Literal Chinese meaning: liberation), and solitude. Then, Manjushri the Youth said to the Blessed One: By all means, please bless this Dharma teaching so that it may be practiced in the last five hundred years of the future, and that it may be heard in the ears of sons or daughters of good families. When he made this request, in this great trichiliocosm, all the music of gods and humans sounded without being played, all the trees blossomed with flowers, and many lotuses emerged from the ponds, the great trichiliocosm.
