It is for the sake of attainment. What all Buddhas have not attained are all the dharmas such as self, sentient beings, and form. What the Buddhas have not done, and what all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas have not done, those are what children do. They cling to permanence, annihilation, combination, arrogance, and so on. Similarly, Manjushri asked the Bhagavan, "How does one obtain forbearance of the unarisen dharma?" Starting from the principle of forbearance such as the unobtainability of all dharmas, they discussed it, and 62,000 beings generated the mind of unsurpassed Bodhi. 22,000 Bodhisattvas attained forbearance of the unarisen dharma. Then, the son of the gods, Intelligence Radiance, asked Manjushri, "How is the leap from ground to ground?" Manjushri taught that all dharmas are immutable and like illusions, and also taught appropriately with intentional language. The Bhagavan praised Manjushri, saying, "Well done, Manjushri, well done, well done! If it is to be taught, it should be taught in this way." Then, Manjushri, as a youth, for the son of the gods, Intelligence Radiance, starting from the meaning of no self-nature, spoke profound teachings, explaining the profound meaning of all Bodhipakshika dharmas and the three doors of liberation, and the absence of object, practice, and manifestation. At that time, many thousands of monks in that assembly thought: "The Bhagavan said that by manifesting the three doors of liberation and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, one can attain Nirvana, but now Manjushri, as a youth, has refuted this. How can this teaching that he teaches be established? Isn't it declaring contradictions?" Manjushri, knowing their doubts, asked Shariputra: "You are considered the best of the wise, so when one is free from desire, does a practitioner have any attachment, manifestation, or practice of the four truths, the three doors of liberation, and the Bodhipakshika dharmas?" Shariputra replied: "Manjushri, it is not so, because all dharmas are unobtainable, unarisen emptiness, so they do not manifest." Thus, by explaining this teaching, three thousand monks, without grasping, their minds were completely liberated from the outflows.
