and look to method, wisdom, prajna, and courage. Friends, these Bodhisattvas, from countless kalpas, have been close to sentient beings through the deeds of the Buddha. For whichever sentient beings' six faculties these noble beings appear, those beings will not later dwell in the realm of Mara, it should be said. Thus it was said. Furthermore, in the teaching of the undifferentiated Dharmadhatu in the Ratnakuta Sutra, Manjushri, the youthful one, taught the profound meaning that all dharmas are the nature of the Dharmadhatu, without purification, bondage, or liberation. From that assembly, two hundred monks, becoming discouraged, said, "If there is no liberation, what is the point of our ordination and striving on the path?" Thus, they left the assembly and were on their way back when Manjushri emanated a monk and said to them, "I am leaving because I do not believe in the Dharma taught by Manjushri, the youthful one, and I am discouraged." Those monks said, "We are the same." The emanation monk said, "Are you merely leaving because you do not believe? Or are you leaving after abandoning and speaking ill of it?" Those monks said, "We are merely leaving because we do not believe, and there is no abandonment or speaking ill of it." The emanation monk said, "O fortunate ones, non-contention is the supreme quality of the Dharma of a renunciant, so do not speak ill of it; for the time being, let us proceed slowly. O fortunate ones, do you think that the mind is blue? Similarly, is it yellow, and so on? Is it correct or incorrect? Is it permanent or impermanent? Is it with form or without form? You should examine it in this way. The mind is without form, cannot be pointed out, has no appearance, has no obstruction, has no location, and is not a cognitive object. Such a mind, does it dwell inside? Or does it dwell outside? Or does it dwell in between the two? Is there such an object of focus?" Those monks said, "It is not so." "Then, for such a thing, is there a truly established ultimate reality?" They said, "It is not so." The emanation said, "Do you think that there is liberation for something that is not true and not ultimately established?" They said, "It is not so."
