Thus he spoke. Then, Mañjuśrīkumārabhūta, having entered into the samādhi of all miraculous transformations, made this Saha world as flat as the palm of the hand, and the entire great thousandfold world system was filled with great light. All evil destinies and afflictions ceased, and all abided in loving-kindness. The great earth shook in six ways, and the sound of sweet music and a rain of flowers fell, and the gods were diligent in the work of offering. The nāgas made all the paths level and adorned them with immeasurable offerings, which became a wonderful and marvelous thing. Then, Mañjuśrīkumārabhūta, surrounded by eighty-two thousand bodhisattvas and about five hundred great śrāvakas, went to the residence of King Ajātaśatru. Previously, Mañjuśrī had said to the king that there were about five hundred attendants, and only five hundred meals had been prepared, so he thought it was not good. The king's son, Laksmana, and others said to the king: "Great King, please do not be displeased. Mañjuśrī is greatly blessed with wisdom and miraculous power. If he wishes, he can satisfy all sentient beings belonging to the great thousandfold world system with just a little food and drink. What need is there to mention just these attendants? His method of giving is inexhaustible." Ajātaśatru was pleased. Then, Mañjuśrī said to the bodhisattvas in that assembly, such as Samantabhadra, to arrange the dwellings of the assembly, and so on. By their miraculous power, they arranged the dwellings and laid out the seats separately. There, King Ajātaśatru and his retinue were diligent in the work of offering, and many gods, such as Brahmā and Indra, and the nāgas also paid homage to Mañjuśrī and his retinue. Then, King Ajātaśatru thought, "These bodhisattvas do not have alms bowls, what will they eat with?" From his own buddha-field, the alms bowls fell from the sky, and after being washed in the Anavatapta lake with water possessing eight qualities, they were placed on lotus flowers and carried by eight thousand nāga maidens and offered to those bodhisattvas. Then, the king distributed food, and the food became inexhaustible, which was wonderful, O Mañjuśrī!

He asked him, 'And don't do this, just like your evil regret.' After the entourage of Bodhisattvas had eaten, they threw their bowls into the sky, and the bowls remained in the air without being caught. The king asked Manjushri, 'What is the reason for this?' Manjushri replied, 'It remains where your evil regret remains. Just as this bowl has no place to stay and does not fall, so all dharmas do not cling, do not stay, and do not fall anywhere.' Then the king sat before Manjushri and asked to have his regret removed. Manjushri said, 'That regret cannot be removed even by Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges.' Ajatashatru, knowing he was helpless, fell to the ground. Then the great Elder Kashyapa said, 'Great King, do not be afraid! This Manjushri is skilled at explaining with intention, so ask him what the intention is.' The king rose again and asked about the meaning. Manjushri said, 'Just as the Buddha, the Bhagavan, cannot be born, and the sky cannot be defiled by afflictions, so for that which has no nature to be removed, even the Buddha cannot remove it; the Buddha only revealed this meaning.' Therefore, King Ajatashatru generated the forbearance that accords with emptiness, and thus his regret was removed. Then Ajatashatru took a pair of silk cloths worth a hundred thousand and began to offer them to Manjushri's body, but his body became invisible. Then a voice came from the sky saying, 'Look at regret and all dharmas in the same way, and offer the silk to the one who sees the body.' In front of Manjushri was a Bodhisattva named Jñanadhvaja, and all the Bodhisattvas, and even up to the Arhat Mahakashyapa, offered the silk in turn, but they all showed the dharma that could not be accepted by each, and their bodies became invisible. Then the five hundred monks also became invisible, and they thought, 'Let's give this silk to the noble nun.' They went, but they did not see the nun, nor did they see the other women and servants. They manifested such a samadhi that they could not see anything except their own bodies. Hearing the voice, 'Offer it to the one who sees the body,' they thought, 'Then I will offer it to myself.' But they could not see their own bodies either, and they were completely separated from all perceptions of form.
