are fully matured and will never regress from unsurpassed Bodhi. Then, some Bodhisattvas in that assembly thought: "The qualities and splendor of Manjushri's pure land and Sukhavati are similar." Knowing their thoughts, the Blessed One taught: "For example, if someone were to take a drop of water from the great ocean with an instrument that can split a hair into a hundred pieces, that is how one should view the qualities and splendor of the pure land of Sukhavati; and the remaining water in the great ocean is how one should view the qualities and splendor of the pure land of the Tathagata Samantadarshi." Then, the Bodhisattva Simhavikridita asked with a loud voice: "Are there other pure lands equal to this one?" The Blessed One taught: "In the eastern world, there is a world called 'Supremely Excellent by Virtue of Being Well Established in Aspiration,' where there is a Tathagata named Samantaprabha Gunaratna Nityavardhamana Sagararaja, who is currently alive and well, with an immeasurable lifespan. His pure land and the pure land of Samantadarshi are the same, without any difference. There are also four Bodhisattvas who need to realize inconceivable wisdom and abide in the realm of Manjushri's conduct, and the splendor of their pure lands is also the same as this one. They are named: Light Crown, Wisdom Lama, Peaceful Authority, and Aspiration Intelligence." Then, the Bodhisattva Simhavikridita asked Manjushri with a loud voice: "How long will it be before you attain Buddhahood?" Manjushri replied: "When the realm of space becomes a tangible object, then I will attain Buddhahood. Similarly, when illusory beings and others attain Buddhahood, then I will attain Buddhahood. Manjushri is Bodhi, Bodhi is Manjushri, emptiness is Bodhi." Then, the Blessed One taught: "Son of good family, although the assembly of Bodhisattvas and Shravakas of the Tathagata Amitabha is inconceivable, it is like taking a single sesame seed from a sesame field in Magadha, that is how one should view the assembly of the pure land of Sukhavati; and the remaining sesame seeds are how one should view the assembly of the pure land of the Tathagata Samantadarshi, the difference between them is so great. How long does the Tathagata Samantadarshi live? It is like this, emptiness."

If this fortunate world realm is pulverized into infinitesimal particles, even counting the number of kalpas equal to the number of those particles would not exhaust it, not even reaching one hundredth part. Therefore, the lifespan of the Tathagata should be known as immeasurable and limitless. Then, the Blessed One further taught the length of time when Manjushri Kumara becomes enlightened. For example, if someone were to grind this great thousandfold world realm into dust, and another person were to take one infinitesimal particle from that dust, and after passing through as many great thousandfold world realms as there are infinitesimal particles, they would place one infinitesimal particle down, in this way exhausting all the particles in the eastern direction. Similarly, a second person would scatter the particles in the southern direction in the same way, and so on. Counting the ten directions in this way, the number of world realms in the ten directions could not be counted even with hundreds of thousands of kotis of nayutas, and so on. If all the worlds where dust was scattered and not scattered were ground into infinitesimal particles, even those skilled in calculation could not know or count the number in terms of hundreds of thousands of kotis, because beings would become confused by that number. The Tathagata, however, fully understands by way of calculation, such as knowing how many hundreds are in those infinitesimal particles, or how many there are when counted in terms of thousands, and so on. Moreover, he knows all the numbers that exceed these in every way. The Bodhisattva Maitreya then asked: "Blessed One, for the sake of such great wisdom, even if a Bodhisattva were to be burned in the great hell for the rest of their future lives, they would endure it and would not abandon such wisdom." The Blessed One replied: "It is so, it is so. Who would not desire such wisdom, except for those beings who have little faith and diligence and are lazy?" As stated earlier, even for kalpas more numerous than the number of particles obtained by grinding all the Buddha-fields where dust was scattered and not scattered in the ten directions, Manjushri Kumara will still practice the conduct of a Bodhisattva. Because his aspirations and excellent conduct are inconceivable, the measure of his lifespan when he attains enlightenment and
