If one understands it as the union of appearance and terminology, then one can draw certainty about the nature of reality, which is free from elaboration. In that way, any mind that does not grasp anything is not the view of Heshang. Because it is recorded in previous texts that the Chinese monk said that just as white and black clouds obscure the sky, one should not make any conceptual thoughts, but simply remain silent, and that apart from that, all aspects of the means are not needed, and that it is purely "one-taste white dharma." Such a path cannot give rise to certainty about the nature of reality, as the scriptures say, "Even if worldly people meditate on emptiness,..." etc. After the Heshang's school was blocked by Kamalashila, as explained in the three-part Stages of Meditation, one ultimately enters the non-elaborate, non-conceptual wisdom through the certainty drawn from the reasoning of one's own school. Moreover, the standard Madhyamaka meditation stages of the great Indian masters that exist in Tibet should be regarded as authentic treatises and supreme instructions for understanding Madhyamaka meditation. Nowadays, as long as one does not grasp anything in the mind, it is considered to be the Heshang's school, and it is said to be nihilism. However, the Heshang thinks that one should not grasp anything, and this thought itself is a grasping, which has not gone beyond the scope of grasping, and even if it does not go towards non-conceptual wisdom, it is meaningless to say that it is nihilism. Because nihilism is definitely a way of grasping that denies the existence of cause and effect, etc. If one does not grasp anything, what is there to cut off? Therefore, saying that the Heshang's school is nihilism is not from the point of view of view, but because it is thought that apart from not grasping anything, all other aspects of the path, such as generosity, are not needed, and from this point of view it is established as nihilism. But nowadays, those who say that non-grasping is nihilism do not seem to recognize nihilism itself, so how can they know whether it is nihilism or not? Later scholars also refuted the grasping of mere non-existence, saying that it is nihilism, but grasping non-existence does not have the fault of nihilism at all. However, if one does not analyze the terminology, does not understand true emptiness, but only prevents the arbitrary object of negation, and regards such non-existence as the ultimate reality, then reality becomes empty, and thus it will become nihilism that abandons the conventional aspect. Therefore, the measure of reason

Having understood the reality of being free from extremes, led by the excellent view, and thereby generating non-conceptual wisdom, how could there be even a trace of the Heshang's view or nihilistic views when one does not cling to anything? This is the unsurpassed antidote to all wrong views. If it is not like that, and considering not clinging to anything as the Heshang's view, then the noble equipoise without grasping, and the great non-dual wisdom in the Buddha's realm, where even subtle habitual tendencies of appearances are absent, must also be admitted to be like that. If so, then as a result of establishing the view and practicing in the state of ordinary beings, all Madhyamika yogis would become holders of the Heshang's view. What admission could be more contradictory than saying that? Although there are methods in the secret instructions of mantra to abide without clinging to anything, that is merely a method of abiding, and not a view or wisdom. Through that method of abiding, relying on the guru's instructions, non-conceptual wisdom can arise. As it is said in the Doha Heart Essence Vajra Song of the glorious Lord of Yoga, Saraha: "Having completely abandoned thought and what is to be thought, abide like a mindless child, diligently relying on the guru's instructions, there is no doubt that co-emergent wisdom will arise." Therefore, Gyaltsab Rinpoche, in the Dharmata Distinguishing, when explaining non-conceptual wisdom through the six ways of entering, said: "Having faith in the meaning taught in the Mahayana, accumulating merit, the sign is abandoning attachment to signs in the face of unfavorable conditions, antidotes, the reality of the object itself, and the realization of the subject. Not focusing on the duality of grasper and grasped is the correct conduct, abiding in the inexpressible nature of reality. From that, the nature of how subsequent appearances, both with and without appearances, arise, and its benefits, obtaining unsurpassed bliss and the Dharmakaya, thereby seeing all knowable things and teaching the Dharma." The sixth, entering into complete knowledge, is also explained in four ways. The first is completely knowing the antidote, which is that non-conceptual wisdom, clinging to phenomena, clinging to persons, clinging to being completely transformed into arising and ceasing, clinging to the distinction between the qualified and the nature of phenomena, and the denial of what does not exist in name, are said to be the antidote to these five aspects, and that it is the non-conceptual wisdom.
