Since it is not considered a proper examination, it is not elaborated. If, due to the power of calm abiding, just as in a drowsy state, there might occur a state of not recognizing the appearance of duality and not grasping at anything, it goes without saying that this would not lead to the realization of the nature of reality. Therefore, by establishing all phenomena in the uncontrived dharmadhatu that does not fall into any extreme of existence or non-existence, and by familiarizing oneself with the path of uniting insight and calm abiding, dualistic appearances can be subdued. Because although appearing as two, they are not established as two. When the dharmadhatu, which is without duality, is directly realized, the state and appearance become harmonious, and even subtle dualistic appearances do not exist. There is nothing other than the mere appearance of the dharmadhatu. However, individual self-awareness wisdom or non-dual wisdom is not absent in all cases. If it were, then who would be the one who is pacified without an object? It is like saying that a widow's son abides in samadhi that is extremely pacified without an object, but no one would acknowledge such a thing. Therefore, your setting forth the opponent's position here and then responding to it is like what is said in the Pramāṇavārttika: "Setting forth apparent positions, etc., the answer is irrelevant laughter." It is like some commentators setting forth irrelevant doubts themselves and then giving irrelevant answers themselves, which is shown to be a cause for laughter. Here too, because you have not understood even a bit of the opponent's intention, you are stating a refutation that cannot harm the opponent in the slightest. As it is said in the Pramāṇavārttika: "Empty words spoken are defiled by not knowing this and that." Like this, it is merely showing off your own intellectual abilities. It is like a crow eating impure things and then diligently wiping its beak on clean ground. Therefore, there is no need to give even a slight answer to that refutation; it has become powerless. Therefore, this wisdom of non-discrimination, which has as its object the dharmadhatu and suchness that are without duality, is said to be the sole path to omniscience. Therefore, it is indispensable for all who desire ultimate liberation and omniscience. By gradually entering this path through hearing, thinking, and meditating, one can progressively increase the qualities of the grounds and ultimately perfect the state of Buddhahood.

Like the full moon, one has mastered the unparalleled qualities that are devoid of extremes. The wisdom body of omniscient knowledge, equal to the sky, pervaded by the dharmadhatu, manifests as various plays of the three secrets. The great activity that is constant, pervasive, and spontaneously accomplished is attained through the power of making non-conceptual wisdom the path. This is because one has obtained the transformation of the ultimate state of equality of samsara and nirvana. If one believes in a Buddha who is merely a mundane aggregate of five skandhas bound by the karma of limited beings, a self-existent person divided by loving-kindness and other objects, slightly better than a learned monk, existing occasionally in certain directions at certain times, then even if such people verbally recite the unparalleled qualities of the Buddha and the inconceivable secrets of body, speech, and mind, they will not be able to understand their meaning as they are. Therefore, those who desire liberation, if they abandon the profound and ultimate meaning like spitting out ashes and make the path of speculation the essence, as the sutra says: "Having completely abandoned all that has essence, due to lack of faith, they grasp at the dregs." Just like that, who can deny what arises due to the power of time? Therefore, whether it is the teachings of Maitreya, the seven treatises on valid cognition, or other great commentaries, or the praise of easily attaining the intention of the Victorious Ones according to the meaning of these treatises and making all the scriptures appear as instructions, no matter which school these statements belong to, they are the supreme entrance for those who desire liberation. One should mainly pursue the path of liberation, and attachment and prejudice will not change anything. Therefore, those who wish themselves well should contemplate properly. The best refutation is that which cannot be overturned by an answer. If it cannot be overturned, it can create doubt, which is only mediocre. A refutation that does not require an answer is the worst. After showing the opponent's intellectual ability, one disappears on one's own. As it is said, all phenomena are unborn, like the moon in water, and all words are like echoes in a valley. The emptiness that is spoken of, this sound of the echo in the valley, has neither benefit nor harm, and is naturally liberated in itself. Thus it was said. Again, in the polemical text: The Shravaka school believes that in nirvana without remainder, the continuum of form and consciousness is cut off, which has been refuted by five lines of reasoning in the Ornament of Clear Realization and other texts.
