If, relying on wisdom and the like, it becomes inverted, yet still, with the utmost arrogant pride, one speaks of the Tathagata's scriptures, then, alas, know that it is like the example you gave of a violent fit of madness and the like. Why is that? Because when admitting that reality is free from the four extremes, those previous verses said that one must admit it in both example and meaning, which is very strange. Wanting reality to be free from the four extremes, like putting a hat on one's feet, who would admit that one must apply all conventional ways of admitting to it? We only admit to selflessness and non-reality in the conventional, and we never apply the other three aspects. Similarly, for all conventional agreements of meaning, there is no need to apply other aspects. Moreover, when explaining the ultimate truth of names, although we do not apply other aspects of admitting non-reality, those all belong to the way of admitting in the conventional. For all of that, one must add the distinction of the dharma of having and not having to explain, and if one does not add any distinction, one will not universally prevent all objects of existence and non-existence. If, from the perspective of the ultimate truth that transcends the names of knowledge and expression, the non-nominal, then it shows that no dharma is fixated on either existence or non-existence, and although that nature of pacifying elaboration transcends the realm of names, it is not contradictory to realize it by relying on names. Thus, if from the perspective of the reality that is the pacification of all objects, each becoming the object of experience of self-aware wisdom, without adding distinctions, one universally prevents saying that it is neither existent nor non-existent, but because one does not fixate on non-existence, even if it includes not fixating on selflessness, it will not revert to self-existence, because it is free from the extremes of both self and selflessness. At that time, if one prevents fixation on selflessness, it will revert to self-existence, therefore, if selflessness does not prevent the two truths, then emptiness should be admitted as truly established. The example of the existence or non-existence of a snake is an examination of existence or non-existence in the conventional, so in any direction, if a snake is observed by a valid person, one says it exists, and if it is not observed, one says it does not exist, and one can definitely say that there is no need to apply other aspects. For the time being, it is nominal.

If, from the perspective of ultimate truth, does a snake exist in ultimate truth? The answer is no, there is no need to add other statements. Then, does the non-existence of a snake itself exist in ultimate truth? The answer is also no, do not add other statements. If it is said in this way that the non-existence of a snake also does not exist in ultimate truth, then the snake would exist in ultimate truth. The one who generates fear by saying such things is definitely you yourself. Therefore, saying that one is a self-contradictory, foolish, and strange person, and saying that both true non-existence and snake non-existence must exist in ultimate truth, is unavoidable, just as it is said: Where something does not exist, there is emptiness of it. Whatever remains here, that exists. Just like that, it is not enough to merely use the name of complete negation established by the negation of true establishment, but one must acknowledge that it is established in ultimate truth. This is like unwillingly entering the ranks of those who proclaim the tenet of emptiness as truly established, and conspicuously crowding at the feet of Chandrakirti. Therefore, in the Sutra on the Two Truths, it says: Son of the gods, in ultimate truth, the ultimate truth is, thus explicitly adding the distinction, indicating that it is from the perspective of non-conventional ultimate truth. Therefore, for the time being, for those children who, although without self, cling to self, when teaching non-self in order to dispel their self-clinging, in their view, non-self is the reality, so they might think that it exists at all times. However, if one cannot prove the reasoning that even non-self in reality is not to be fixated upon, then non-self would have to become truly established, but that is also untrue, and there is reasoning to prove it as false. For example, as it is said in the scriptures: In a dream, a son dies, the thought that the son does not exist is an obstacle to the thought that the son exists, and that is also false. It should be understood in this way, do not let the mind with objects become strong, but measure from the perspective of the meaning of reality. If there is even a little true establishment, then the opposite of that, true non-existence, would also exist a little. However, if there has never been even a little true establishment, then that true emptiness is also merely fabricated by the mind, and does not exist in the nature of things. In the Madhyamaka treatises, it says: If there is even a little non-emptiness
