But it is not impossible. If one attains the subsequent wisdom of the noble ones, then although that wisdom, which is like an appearance, can negate the two extremes, but as you say, in meditative equipoise, for the non-affirming negation like space, the examination of whether the wisdom that abides in it can negate the extremes of permanence and annihilation is the point of this occasion. Examining the object of ultimate truth itself is timely, because the meditative equipoise of both ordinary beings and noble ones must be regarded as solely the object of ultimate truth. Needless to say, there are many different expressions of scripture and reasoning. Furthermore, the very meaning that all phenomena are primordially free from the eight extremes of conceptual elaboration and free from any of the true one and many, to prove that there is no such nature with the reason of being free from the four extremes, that is indeed the fundamental Middle Way. If one examines in this way, then all phenomena will not transcend its nature, as explained by the Buddhas, the Buddha-sons, and the great chariot masters. Thus, in the homage of the root verses of the Middle Way, as it is said, "Whatever arises dependently," and then, "The pacification of all elaborations, the peaceful teaching," if one realizes as it is without arising and ceasing, and without one and different, etc., then there is no choice but to pacify all elaborations. If one must add the distinction of truly established to all of that, then there will be permanence and annihilation in conventional terms, because just as there is no arising and ceasing and coming and going in the ultimate, but there is in the conventional, so too for permanence and annihilation, one must add the distinction of non-truth. Therefore, that all phenomena are primordially free from all extremes of elaboration, such as the two extremes of existence and non-existence, the union of the two truths is the fundamental Middle Way, and realizing this as it is, the wisdom that does not abide in any extreme is the actual or subsequent Middle Way path, and thereby the Middle Way of the result, the utterly pure non-dual great wisdom, the omniscient, the Buddha who is the union of the two bodies, is accomplished. Furthermore, in the debate text, Chandrakirti said, "Your yoga seeing selflessness, will not realize the suchness of form, etc.," etc., this is unreasonable, because even with one's own seeing of selflessness, one will not realize the very nature of reality. Accepting this as the reason. In the commentary, it says: If one does not understand that things are without inherent existence, then there will be no opportunity to generate certainty about the reality that is free from extremes.

So. However, mere non-existence itself is not the ultimate reality. The first half of the sentence is consistent with what was said to the previous opponent, so it is contradictory for the Consequentialists not to distinguish between the two. In the latter half, the triple stacking of "indeed," "only," and "solely" makes it seem too dense, which is a dangerous tendency to deviate from the path of scriptures and their commentaries, and it is also a display of eloquence by those skilled in rhetoric. If it were not so, how would one worry about openly declaring without concealment, "Non-existence is not the ultimate reality"? Why send this verbal messenger who reveals the inner hypocrisy of the wise? Retract your finger inward and look again and again at this mirror that clearly reveals your own nature. In response, it is said: The statement that the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas' realization of the selflessness of persons does not lead to the realization of the suchness of forms and so on is unreasonable. For, according to your view, even the Madhyamikas' own realization of selflessness does not lead to the realization of suchness. This accusation is meaningless. When asked how it is admitted, the Ṭīkā says, "If one does not understand that things are without inherent existence, there is no opportunity to generate certainty about the reality that is free from extremes." If this is said to be an admission, then, if one does not understand that compounded and uncompounded things or dharmas are without inherent existence, certainty about freedom from extremes will not arise, but what meaning is admitted by such inherent non-existence and being different from freedom from extremes? How can that statement say that the Madhyamikas themselves, having realized non-inherent existence, have not realized suchness? Nor should this verbal messenger who reveals the inner hypocrisy of the wise be sent. If you think that freedom from extremes cannot be achieved without understanding non-inherent existence, so there is a definite order, then it is like the order that if you do not realize the absence of truth, you will not realize suchness. Moreover, although the four extremes of arising are sequentially negated through language, the non-arising of the four extremes is established. Although it is necessary to sequentially negate the two selves of phenomena and persons in order to establish selflessness, at that time and in that instance, it is shown in the manner of negative negation, so it is not necessary to admit that the ultimate is only negative negation. The non-conceptual ultimate truth itself is the result determined by these, that is, distorted thoughts, etc., as mentioned above. The latter words "indeed" and "only."
