It is true that it cannot be measured. I say this. Why is that? If you acknowledge the two ultimate truths, the one with distinctions and the one without distinctions, what contradiction do you see in those two that you must abandon one of them? We believe that not only are these two not contradictory, but it is said that one must rely on the former to realize the latter, which is the view of the Svātantrika school. Like this, it is clearly stated in those scriptures, but you repeat such an unprecedented fifth tenet. Is it because you have not seen those scriptures, or even if you have seen them, you have not understood them? This is simply questioning yourself with your own words. You quoted the proof of the Ornament Sutra to acknowledge that the Svātantrika school acknowledges the latter. If expressed with reason, in the tenets of the Svātantrika school, which one do you want to negate by measuring with reason? Is it the emptiness that refutes the extreme of real establishment, or the emptiness that is free from the four extremes? It can be understood through examination. Because these two ultimate truths are not contradictory, acknowledging both does not have any fault, and there is no need to abandon one of them. As it is said: Without relying on conventional truth, one cannot realize ultimate truth. And: By relying on an object of focus, non-objectivity is greatly born. And: By the force of habit of emptiness, the habits of things are abandoned, and if one becomes accustomed to nothingness, that too will be abandoned later. Just like that. At this time, if we consider it from the perspective of the subject, from the perspective of whether or not the appearance of duality has been eliminated, it is also reasonable to use the names of ultimate truth with distinctions and without distinctions, and we also think so. If we consider it from the perspective of the object, then the difference between these two ultimate truths is explained as the state of being separated from the limited realm of elaboration and the state of being separated from all realms of elaboration. If we consider it from the perspective of the subject, observing how one views the meaning of being separated from elaboration, for the subject in which the appearance of duality has been eliminated, it is called the ultimate truth without distinctions, and other than that, for the subject with the appearance of duality, the name of the ultimate truth with distinctions is used. In the great scriptures, two different ways of establishing the two truths are explained. The first is to call the unborn nature of reality the ultimate truth, and to call the appearance of phenomena the conventional truth. The second is that the object and the subject are consistent in establishment and appearance.

Regarding the ultimate truth, and both the object and subject that are contrary to the ultimate truth, indicating them with the name of conventional truth is due to the power of conforming to conventions. If based on this view, whether it is Sutra or Tantra, the name of ultimate truth is also applied to the subject, and for the individual who has attained realization, it is also permissible to designate the title of a noble being, whether or not they are of a certain type. These two views, although they share the same names of conventional and ultimate, differ in how they establish the meaning. If one does not distinguish and explain the intentions of each system, then using a mind as narrow as the eye of a needle to measure the vast scriptures will only lead to exhausting oneself in vain. Therefore, the term "imputed existence" also necessarily implies the existence of a real entity that has the ability to perform a function, and similarly, for various ways of establishing a real entity that is permanent and stable, independent, and merely a basis, there is also necessarily an implication of imputed existence. As it is said in the Compendium, "Everything becomes both real and imputed." Like this, the assertion of real and imputed existence is based on the perspective of the system. In the context of establishing the ultimate truth in the treatises of the Svātantrika school, the explanation of the two ultimate truths is explicitly stated in the words of the text to be in accordance with the previous way of explaining the conventional and ultimate truths of appearance. Therefore, there is no opportunity to interpret it as whether or not dualistic appearance is mistaken. In the treatises of the Prāsaṅgika school, although it is certain that the reasoning that refutes the four extremes of arising is explained in the Entrance to establish the ultimate truth, if one were to refute arising in the ultimate truth like the Svātantrikas and assert that arising exists in the conventional truth, then there would be no distinction between the Prāsaṅgika and Svātantrika schools. Therefore, in the Entrance it is said, "By whatever reasoning it is not reasonable for arising from self or other, by that same reasoning it is not reasonable even in convention. From where does your arising come to be?" And in the auto-commentary it is said, "Therefore, the arising of self-nature does not exist in either of the two truths. Even if one does not want to admit it, one must inevitably acknowledge it." This shows that what the Svātantrikas call "arising in convention" refers to arising that is established by its own essence or self-character, which is acknowledged even though it is not refuted by the reasoning that analyzes the ultimate truth. This shows that when the reasoning that analyzes the ultimate truth examines it, it does not exist in the slightest. If that is the case, then that which does not arise in either of the two truths
