If you think it is enough to add the words and say that there is no such dharma because it is impossible to not exist. You only use the way of explaining yes or no in debate, and say that even the nature of dharma that transcends all terms needs to be measured, and you proclaim the voice of blaming others, then you will become a laughing stock by speaking beyond that path yourself. If you do not do that, but use the latter two "existence and non-existence" on the ultimate truth, since the first "existence and non-existence" has already said that there is no existence in the ultimate truth, there is no need to establish again that both existence and non-existence are not. If you establish it, then immediately someone will say with words that overturn the previous commitment that neither existence nor non-existence is not so. In addition, if you examine the four sentences of whether one dharma exists or does not exist for another dharma, then for that difference base, all dharmas that can be established as differences exist, and for it, all dharmas that cannot be established do not exist, and such terms can be established. Therefore, admitting that all dharmas are both existence and non-existence, etc., such verbal elaboration is of no help in researching profound meanings. Therefore, it is very good to say that there is no commitment and that the elaboration is pacified, and that there is no commitment and attachment to the four sentences of affirmation and negation of existence and non-existence, both are, and both are not. If these four sentences are not there, you can know that there is no elaboration of any terms, because all the ways of verbal concepts of refutation and establishment are included in these four sentences of refutation and establishment. Similarly, the two extremes and the eight extremes should also be known. Thus, in the "Treatise on the Cessation of Disputes," it says: "I have no commitment, therefore I am only without fault. If with direct perception, etc., there is something that is related to the meaning, it should be established or refuted, but since that is not there, I have no commitment." and so on. Just like that. When explaining this freedom from elaboration like this, some people did not believe it before, let alone now. In the "Sutra of the Abode of Manjushri," Manjushri Bodhisattva said: Do not relate to children, nor do you relate to the dharma of children and the dharma of arhats. When you do not relate, at that time you do not discriminate, nor do you universally practice, that has no practice, no elaboration and is pacified, do not admit that there is, nor do you admit that there is not.

He does not commit. He does not commit by saying, "It is also existent, it is also non-existent." He does not commit by saying, "It is neither existent nor non-existent." Whenever he does not commit, that is without an object. Because it is separated from all objects, it is without mind, and being separated from mind, it is said to abide in the Dharma of a Shramana in a manner of having no place to abide. When this manner was taught, five hundred monks from that assembly rose from their seats and said: Do not look at the youthful Manjushri. Do not listen. The direction in which Manjushri dwells should also be abandoned. What is the reason for that? Thus, the youthful Manjushri, while the Teacher is manifestly present, teaches that all defilements and complete purification are of one nature, so he speaks what is not Dharma. Having said that, we have practiced the pure conduct in the Dharma and Discipline spoken by the Blessed One. Thinking thus, they departed. Then Shariputra said to Manjushri: Five hundred monks have risen from their seats, saying unpleasant things and have departed. Manjushri said: The five hundred monks said this: Do not look at the youthful Manjushri. Do not listen. The direction in which the youthful Manjushri dwells should also be abandoned. Saying these words is good, good. Shariputra, they have spoken those words well. What is the reason for that? Thus, the youthful Manjushri is not existent, because he is without an object. Whatever is not existent and without an object, one cannot look at or listen to. The direction in which the youthful Manjushri dwells, that direction should also be abandoned, this is also, Manjushri is not existent, because he is without an object, then his dwelling place is also not existent, because it is without an object. Those monks, having heard that teaching of Manjushri, returned there again, saying: Manjushri, we do not understand what you have taught. Manjushri said: Monks, it is good. Such is the activity of the Hearers of the Teacher. Monks, for this, there is nothing to be fully known, there is nothing to be separately known. What is the reason for that? Thus, this realm of Dharma abides in a manner of not abiding. It is not existent, because it is without an object, and it is without wavering, and it is without death and transference, and so forth.
