It is said that there would be faults such as obscuration, and the inability to establish the proof of self-continuum intention, and ultimately even the term of reality would be cut off, as stated by the Lord of Wisdom. It is also said that this system does not accept self-awareness and the basis of all in name, but although there is no prohibition or establishment in name, saying that it is prohibited in the ultimate sense is only to show one's own inner feelings. Because this system prohibits self-awareness not only in the ultimate sense but also in name. As the glorious Chandrakirti said in the commentary on the "Entering the Middle Way": "However, if it is within the scope of worldly convention, then, even so, there can be no memory that has self-awareness as its cause." Because it has been clearly stated. Furthermore, if self-awareness is not prohibited in name, then the fault of the three, the agent, the object, and the action, being established from their own side in name is unavoidable. Therefore, unnecessary refutations such as one's own mind being obscured to oneself, and the term of reality being cut off, should also be abandoned. Because it is necessary to explain that memory arises even without self-awareness above, and the tenets of the upper and lower schools must also be explained separately without mixing them. Similarly, how can it be reasonable to say that the consciousness of the basis of all exists in name? If so, this system must also prohibit external objects, then the statements in the "Ten Bhumi Sutra" and its commentaries, etc., that external objects cannot be prohibited, etc., would all become meaningless, how can this be accepted? It cannot be accepted at all. Furthermore, in your commentary, there are many sentences similar to this distorted explanation, but I have not refuted them one by one. However, here I have only pointed out the gateway to the scriptures and reasoning that cause harm, and if these are studied in detail, most of them can be refuted, so please make a comparative study with careful wisdom. The stainless golden mountain of the Buddha's words, Adorned with jewels of authentic scriptures and reasoning, Encircled by the rays of the seven horses of refutation and establishment, This also becomes the spring of the beautiful Buddha's teachings. With the content in between, he refuted it. To this, I will briefly answer: In general, the Gelug school of Madhyamaka considers that there are six consciousnesses, and does not establish self-awareness, etc., which is the

Salmo. Where is the necessity that merely because there is no verbal acceptance there, it must necessarily be understood that it does not exist verbally? For example, in the system of the Prasangikas, although there is no need to apply terms such as innate mind and great bliss, it is not that they are not appropriate in terms of convention. How is that similar to this? Since it is explicitly clear that there is a strong refutation of self-awareness, is the negation of its existence in terms of convention established as a characteristic of the Prasangikas? Although there is a strong refutation of self-awareness in the Madhyamaka texts, those are refutations in terms of ultimate truth, not negations in terms of convention, just like other-awareness. Why is it not negated? If you negate it by saying that it does not exist even in terms of convention, then just like the sound of permanence and the creator Ishvara, it is necessary to have an explicit harm from the valid cognition that examines conventions, but this is not possible here. Therefore, in terms of worldly conventions, it is said, "It is impossible for memory with a cause of intelligence," etc. Although the existence of self-awareness depends on its establishment, even so, it is not reasonable for memory to remember, just like something born in an unknown continuum for the sake of others. As it is said, it seems to be a reasoning that shows that even if previous and subsequent cognitions are separate, established by their own characteristics, even if one has previously experienced oneself, it is impossible to remember now. If there is no reasoning that definitely harms the existence of self-awareness in worldly conventions, then nothing is accomplished by merely saying that. If you say that there is reasoning, as mentioned above, if self-awareness exists in terms of convention, then it is unavoidable that the three, agent, object, and action, are established from their own side, then this is just a statement without a definite reason. The term "established from its own side" in this context of Madhyamaka refers to something that can withstand examination by the reasoning that examines ultimate truth. Although they assert that this does not establish self-awareness, there is not even a particle of reason why the three, agent, object, and action, must be established from their own side if one's own mind knows itself in terms of convention, just like object-awareness. If you say that the three, agent, object, and action, in this case, refer to the three, object of knowledge, agent of knowledge, and action of knowledge, without any difference, then even the term "knowledge" cannot be obtained. If you examine the application of oneself acting on oneself, even if the object and the subject are different, it will not become self-awareness, but will become other-awareness. Even if there is no difference, the action will not apply, because the three, agent, object, and action, are one.
