Because it is impossible to realize, because there is no attainment of the valid cognition that realizes it, therefore it cannot generate everything. Therefore, just as after ascertaining the existence of fire by the sign of smoke, even if it is shown to exist again by signs such as trustworthy words, there is nothing to be produced from the previous realization. Therefore, for directly seeing the truth, how can there be completeness or incompleteness, or good or bad, in realization according to whether the types of reasoning for realizing it are extensive or not? Just as after directly seeing fire, the wisdom that cuts off superimposition does not become good or bad depending on whether one knows many or few signs that establish fire. In general, although there is a difference in wisdom regarding knowing or not knowing various types of reasoning that establish that very thing, this is like knowing many or few crafts and so on, and it becomes proficiency or non-proficiency in treatises that show how many or terminology, but as it is,

Therefore, it is also appropriate to understand the various rational ways of determining it. Because a wise person who can fully comprehend all that should be comprehended, it is easier to comprehend only the means of comprehension than the former. Furthermore, if one can well comprehend the essence of the Tathagata's treasury of speech, the Prajnaparamita, which is like a priceless jewel, the meaning of emptiness free from elaboration, then by that alone one will comprehend the essence and extensive explanations of all dharmas. Because it is said in the sutras that it gathers the qualities of the path and fruit like an ocean, such as dharani, samadhi, supernormal powers, great compassion, paramitas, skillful means that do not abide in the grounds and the two extremes, etc. Therefore, it is reasonable to gather these qualities merely by having it in one's continuum, so if the Shravakas also have such realization, these qualities should also arise, not to mention merely knowing the various rational ways of accomplishing that nature. In this way, the Shravakas are duller in faculties and have less merit than the Mahayanists, and in their treatises, the gateways to the reasoning that realizes that very nature are not extensive. They only strive to realize the selflessness of the person as a method of liberating themselves from samsara, and do not diligently strive for the emptiness taught by the Mahayana. They can also directly see the ultimate truth of the nature of reality in a short time, such as two or three lifetimes. If you are asked why, contrary to the former, those with sharp faculties who have entered the Mahayana path, who are endowed with all qualities, cannot see the truth even after one countless eon, then please answer with your head held high! It is not that they do not have the desire to quickly realize, even if the wisdom of the path of seeing manifests in this life, there are no Bodhisattvas who do not wish for it. It is also not because of weak diligence, because it is said in the sutras that even if one is extremely diligent, it will still take one countless eon. The difference in wisdom and merit, etc., are the advantages of the Mahayana, and these are the causes of quick realization, not the causes of slowness, which goes without saying. Similarly, a Bodhisattva who has seen the truth again accumulates the two accumulations for one countless eon.

It is also necessary to explain the reason why the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, relying on the realization of their own fruit, can abandon even the seeds of clinging to reality in a very short time. This is a brief explanation. Furthermore, a certain incarnation said: Conventional truths are ultimate truths, these are considered as the two truths. Ultimate truth is not the object of the mind, the mind is considered conventional. The first two lines show that the objects of knowledge are divided into two truths. The latter two lines show the nature of each of the two truths. Moreover, the nature of the two truths can also be established, that is, whatever becomes the object of the mind of dualistic appearance, and what that mind can realize in the way that it itself exists with dualistic appearance, is the conventional truth; whatever does not become the object of the mind of dualistic appearance, and what the mind that realizes itself directly can realize in the way that dualistic appearance disappears by means of direct perception, is the nature of the ultimate truth. Here, some people who comment on the Bodhisattvacharyavatara nowadays explain the meaning of this system by saying: Therefore, the ultimate reality of things is free from all extremes of existence, non-existence, both, and neither, so it is not the object of the mind, because the mind and words are conventional and not ultimate. It is not reasonable to explain the previous words as a proposition and the latter words as a reason, because if it is a conventional truth, it cannot measure the ultimate, so it is not pervasive. If it is not established, then the ultimate truth as a dharma should be completely non-existent, because it is not the object of measurement of the mind. If you admit it, then the nature of the two truths should be one, not different in reverse, because the other is not established. It is not possible to think so, because the Bodhicitta Commentary says: Conventional is said to be emptiness, emptiness alone is conventional. If there is no, then there is no certainty of arising, like action and impermanence. It is clearly stated that if the nature of the two truths is one, and not different in reverse, then it must be a relationship of non-arising or oneness, just like conditioned things and impermanence. In addition, that dharma should be the object of the mind, because it is measurable by the wisdom of the noble equanimity, because the Commentary on the Entrance says: For the ultimate truth, it is the special realm of the wisdom of those who see correctly.
