The Lord of the World does nothing, as it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: From the connection of weapons and medicines, if there are black wounds and sores, why is a disconnected tree stump not considered a cause? Third, if the cause, the Lord himself, has no beginning, since the power of the substantial cause is unimpeded, how can all effects have a beginning? In that case, it cannot be established that this effect exists at this time and did not arise before this, but must have existed from beginningless time. Occasionally specifying a time is unreasonable. Therefore, these present men and women must also have existed from beginningless time. If it is thought that the Lord has arranged the outer and inner worlds in order, so some effects arise and some do not, there is no fault. Then, why do all the effects of the Lord not always arise? Since the cause of all effects is only the Lord, and the Lord does not depend on any other conditions, then the cause of producing all effects is always complete, why do the effects not arise? As it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: For that cause which has no incompleteness, by what is the effect prevented? If it is said that it depends on each co-operative condition, how is it possible that co-operative conditions are not complete at all times? Since there is nothing that is not done by the Lord, on what other cause does the Lord depend to produce the effect? That is unreasonable. If it necessarily depends on other conditions, then the collection of causes and conditions itself becomes the cause, not the Lord. Because when the collection of causes and conditions is present, there is no possibility of not producing the effect, and without the causes and conditions, the Lord also has no power to produce. Therefore, even though it is seen that it arises from other causes and conditions, if one meaninglessly thinks that the Lord is also a cause, then the causes will become endless. As it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: Whatever exists, whatever arises, other than those, that is considered its cause, then all causes will become endless. Furthermore, even if it is allowed that the Lord depends on the collection when producing the effect, due to the power of the collection, he involuntarily brings suffering to others, etc.

Then it becomes dependent on others. If the fruits act according to their desires by the power of desire, they also depend on desire and are caught by the iron hook of desire, and become dependent on others. Furthermore, even if it is admitted that this is the creator of the vessel and essence, how are you the lord of desire? Because having the ability to produce fruits, it is necessarily impermanent. The permanent is only empty of function. Secondly, the heretical logicians and others who say that the eternal atoms are the cause of the world, those have already refuted the atoms before, so there is no need to explain them here. Again, the Samkhya school believes that the eternal principle is the cause of beings. Moreover, the three qualities of mind, dust, and darkness are always completely equal, which is said to be the cause of transformation, that is, the principle. When they become unequal, it is believed that various kinds of sentient transformations occur. In this regard, the principle is the only truth, but it is contradictory to have three qualities of nature, because having three is not one. Therefore, that eternally one nature or principle does not exist. Similarly, those three qualities also do not exist, because each of them has the components of the three. If it is not so, it will transcend the state of nature. If there is no cause of quality, then the transformations arising from it, such as sounds, etc., are also considered to exist, which itself becomes very absurd or contrary to existence, like a pot without clay. Furthermore, if feeling is established by valid cognition as the nature of mind, then inanimate objects such as clothes cannot have happiness, etc. If things like sound are the nature of the cause of happiness, etc., then there is no fault, then, in the ultimate sense, things have already been refuted as non-existent. Moreover, in conventional terms, it contradicts your own commitment, because you think that the cause of cloth, etc., is also happiness, etc., and the result of cloth, etc., is also happiness, etc., then, whatever is the cause of producing cloth, etc., is also this, and whatever is the result produced by cloth, etc., is also this, which is ridiculous, like saying that this person is both the father and the son of this person. If there are multiple happinesses, etc., then the single nature will be lost. This also contradicts direct perception, because it has never been seen that cloth, etc., arise from happiness, etc., such as cloth and sandalwood.
