Commentary on the Chapter of Wisdom, Easy to Understand, Jewel Vine Commentary on the Chapter of Wisdom, Easy to Understand, Jewel Vine Commentary on the Chapter of Wisdom, Easy to Understand, Jewel Vine, thus named, resides here. Namo Manjushriye! The light of joy of the noble and supreme Manjushri, Abides in the lotus heart's stamen; The fragrance of the Bodhisattva's conduct to the ends of the directions, The peaceful deity who pervades, to that one I respectfully prostrate. The profound and excellent path of the supreme vehicle Madhyamaka, From the power of the Buddhas and one's own prior habituation, Otherwise, even the wise, great-minded, and supremely diligent, Find it difficult to realize, so what need is there to mention someone like me? However, following the traces of the holy scriptures, Through the door of valid cognition and reasoning, the path of the wise, When seen, all biased and wavering paths are completely abandoned, And one proceeds without doubt to this peaceful place. Here, taken in hand by the noble Manjushri, having mastered the ocean of the conduct of the Bodhisattva, binding the vast corners of the earth with the wonders of an extraordinary liberation, is the glorious Shantideva, widely known as such. From his venerable face comes the great treatise "Entering the Bodhisattva's Conduct," and the chapter on wisdom is the dharma to be explained here. Among these, the way to generate the main path, wisdom, and the explanation of the perfection of wisdom itself, of the two, first, all of the limbs such as generosity mentioned above, Were spoken by the Great Sage for the sake of wisdom. In this, since generosity etc. are caused by the former, wisdom arises, so it is also explained in terms of cause and effect. But here, "for the sake of" means that just as when a king goes to war, the four divisions of the army also go for the sake of the king, the actual cause of the all-knowing wisdom of the fruit mother, which is not common,
