It should be understood as analyzed in detail before. If the cause, contact, does not exist, then from what does the result, feeling, arise? It does not exist in reality. If it does not exist, then what is the purpose of all these various labors? Because there is no happiness worth pursuing and achieving, what suffering will harm which person? It is merely the appearance of a deluded mind like an illusion. Third, like this, craving inevitably arises in all sentient beings, so how can its cause, feeling, not exist? This is also merely ignorance, not reality. Moreover, when the feeler, self, and self-established knowledge do not exist, and the feeling experienced by them does not exist, then, when this state where the object of feeling and the subject of feeling do not exist in reality is seen, why does the result of craving, which arises from the cause of feeling, not cease? Because there is no cause. Fourth, if feeling and the feeler do not exist, then seeing and so on are not reasonable, if you think like this, the eye seeing form or the body touching touch, using the beginning and the end to represent everything in between, seeing, hearing, smelling, and so on, these do not exist in reality, but the nature of the appearance is like a dream and an illusion. As the teacher said: Like a dream, like an illusion, like a city of gandharvas, thus is birth, thus is dwelling, thus is said to be destruction. Therefore, it is merely appearing as if it were unreal, but in reality, it is not seen. Like this, are feeling and the mind that experiences it simultaneous or not? If we analyze. If they are simultaneous, then, the experiencing mind and the feeling experienced arise simultaneously without any before or after, therefore, the feeling is not experienced by that mind, because the entities are different, and things that exist simultaneously, none of them is the cause of the other, so they do not depend on each other, they are not related, they are independent of each other, therefore they cannot experience. If they are not simultaneous, and feeling arises first, and the mind arises later, then will the mind have the aspect of feeling? If you ask like this, feeling does not exist in the mind's own time, so it is not truly experienced, but merely becomes a memory, because all things that are based on the past are memories, but the past does not exist now, so it is impossible to experience it clearly. Therefore, if we analyze the memory of the past, it is also false, because the past itself is now

Because it does not abide in the object of observation. Thus, the mind of feeling has passed away, so it is impossible for it to feel, and it is established by reason that neither the present nor the future will feel. Similarly, after the object of feeling has passed, it cannot be felt from memory, the present cannot know feeling, and the future is gone, so the present consciousness cannot feel. Thus, it is not reasonable for feeling to feel itself, because it is contradictory for oneself to act on oneself, just like preventing self-awareness. Because it has been said that consciousness other than feeling does not feel either. That feeling is that there is no real feeler at all. For that reason, this feeling is not truly existent. Thus, in the absence of a feeler, this collection of aggregates, like a dream or illusion, feels suffering. How can this unestablished nature of feeling cause harm? In reality, there is no benefit or harm at all. So it is said. Third, showing that mind consciousness is without inherent existence. Showing that the five consciousnesses are without inherent existence. First, the consciousness of mind does not abide in the inner faculty, nor does it abide in the outer objects such as form, nor does it abide between the two. The mind cannot be found in the center of the inner body or in the limbs of the outer body. It is not found elsewhere than what has just been said, and the body itself is not the mind, nor is it mixed and entered into the body, because there is nothing established separately from the body. Because there is not the slightest establishment, sentient beings themselves are naturally in nirvana. Second, if there are eye consciousnesses etc. before the knowable form etc., then with what object does that consciousness arise? At that time there is no object, so there is no consciousness with an object. If consciousness and the knowable arise simultaneously, then with what object does that consciousness arise? If the consciousness has not arisen, the condition for the object does not arise, so it cannot produce it. If the condition for the object has arisen, then the consciousness has already arisen, so it is not suitable to be the producer, so it becomes unrelated. However, if the knowable exists later, then from what does the knowable arise at that time? Because its object has ceased. Is that previously ceased thing now existent or non-existent? If it exists, then it is not ceased, because it changes simultaneously. If it does not exist, it can still produce, like a sprout from a burnt seed, like a rabbit's horn.
