Then, if the suffering of intestinal discomfort is not produced at that time, then, is not the so-called feeling that, because things themselves are not established, but the inner discrimination clings to or establishes happiness, etc., clearly manifested and established from the power of things themselves? Like this, when the mind produces happiness, there is no suffering; when suffering arises, there is no happiness, because causes and conditions occasionally have intervals. Therefore, if one regards the happiness that should be pursued and the suffering that should be abandoned as real things, and strives to abandon and obtain them, it is a mistake, because before the mind has clearly discriminated, the so-called happiness and suffering, whether internal or external, do not exist in their own right. For example, for a person with vomiting sickness and a hungry person, butter; for a person with cleanliness and a pig, a dung heap; for a person accustomed to ugliness and a person with desire, a woman's body, all become happiness, etc. because of their own discrimination, so things like happiness, etc. have no self-nature. Precisely because of this, for the feeling of happiness, etc., clinging to them themselves, and continuously engaging in the act of discriminating in the manner of abandoning and obtaining, in order to counteract this situation, one should practice this kind of observation as just mentioned. Because this world clinging to feelings is completely chaotic like a madman, and there is no other way to counteract it except this. Like this, from the good field of observation and analysis, the samadhi of abiding in the meaning of the selflessness of feeling is the food enjoyed by yogis. Just as food makes the body grow and feel happy and satisfied, yogis experience and realize the joy of detachment, making the body grow. Therefore, yogis enjoy the seen objects without feeling, while worldly people are confused and run around by the very realm of feeling, that is the meaning. Second, if the grasper and the grasped, that is, the senses and the objects such as form, etc., are either with or without interval? If it is the first case, then where will they meet? Because it is impossible to meet with an interval, just like the east and the west.

Like a mountain. If there is no gap between the two, they will become one. In that case, which object with an object and which object will come into contact? Just as it is impossible for the eye to come into contact with itself. Someone might ask: Why can't they touch each other like palms touching each other? The contact that appears in this way is only clung to by discrimination, but it is not actually so. The reason for this is that the coarse root consciousness object cannot be touched in all aspects. For example, if the front is touched, the back is not touched. According to this method of analysis, the particles separated by other particles are not in contact, and the ultimate root consciousness object that is not separated must be in contact. However, the infinitesimal cannot enter the infinitesimal, because it has no parts and no space to accommodate or enter other things, so the two are the same. Therefore, if one side of these two infinitesimals does not touch all the parts, then it is not without parts, and there are still particles that have not touched, and the touching particles are analyzed. If all the parts touch, then they must enter and merge with each other, but since there is no space to enter, there is no entry. If there is no entry, the two particles will not mix together, and if they are not mixed together, there will be no contact. If there is no division of contact, it must be in contact in all aspects, and it is impossible to contact in only one aspect. Therefore, since it is without division, and it is said that it has contact, how can this be established? Because it is impossible for it to touch in one aspect and in all aspects. Therefore, if you think that contact exists and is without division, then please show it to me, so that contact can be established. This refers to the extent to which the other party cannot prove it. In this way, it is explained that the so-called aggregation of object, root, and consciousness is actually that the root consciousness object is not aggregated. Moreover, for the consciousness that does not have a body composed of particles, it is unreasonable to be in contact with the object. If there is contact even without a body, then the sky and the hand will be in contact, and the son of a barren woman will also be in contact. If it is thought that this metaphor is inappropriate because there is consciousness, then it is not inappropriate to analyze the contact without a body. If it is thought that even if there is no contact and touch, there is an aggregation of object, root, and consciousness, then like "because it is a collection of fingers," etc., the collection has no substance.
