Because it possesses power, it overwhelms and is not experienced. For example, like the sun to the stars. If you say that something that is not of the nature of being experienced, how could it be a feeling? Because it lacks the characteristic of feeling. If you consider it a feeling even without experiencing it, then it would follow that you also feel the scent of a sky flower. With this reasoning, it can be inferred that unpleasant things like painful spiciness are also not experienced because they are overwhelmed by great pain. If you say so, it should be analyzed in this way as well. To that, they think like this: Since something that has never been experienced cannot be a feeling, when experiencing great joy, although it is not that pain has never been experienced, it is because the pain is very subtle that one does not know that it is being experienced. For example, like a tiny drop of salt water falling into a large amount of sugarcane juice. It is impossible for subtle pain and pleasure to coexist with equal power in one continuum. If they did, then both pleasure and pain should appear simultaneously in one continuum, but that is not observed. And, don't you believe that the coarse, powerful part of this pain is eliminated by pleasure? If so, why wouldn't it eliminate this subtle part as well? Because its powerful antidote, joy, remains. Like the cold touch on the ground covered by a great fire. Therefore, when experiencing great joy, one does not experience the subtle pain that is its opposite. Again, someone says: Although there is subtle pain, it cannot exert its own power, but is transformed by the great power of joy, so other than that great joy, it is only joy, that is, it is experienced as subtle joy. Just as white crystal appears red when covered by red dust, but it is not that the white crystal does not exist. If you say so, Even the subtle part that belongs only to joy is of the same kind as that joy, and is never pain. What is the use of investigating whether it is truly pain? What is the difference between joy itself experienced as subtle joy, and the part of joy itself experienced as subtle joy? Since there is no difference, yet you still forcibly search for it, what is the use of this, like tying knots in the sky? These examples also use what is not yet established as the reason for establishment, so it cannot be established. If the opposing factor, powerful joy, arises...
