If someone says, since craving is the proximate cause for taking rebirth, without it, there will be no connection to other existences, that is certain. Then, even if the Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha Arhats are cast away by afflictions and do not connect to all existences, however, this will not be extinguished like the extinguishing of a lamp as you wish, because they have the complete causes and conditions for accomplishing the mind-made body and there are no obstacles. Why? Because the craving in the Arhat's continuum, although not an affliction generated by self-grasping, just as it is believed that there is non-afflictive coemergent ignorance, that is, the ignorance of not knowing the reality of place, time, and kalpa, why can't there be non-afflictive craving? Therefore, since the cause of coemergent ignorance has not been reversed, the part of its result will not disappear either. Just like this, if craving arises from feeling, then Arhats also have feeling. This is proven by the reason of the complete number of causal aggregates. Since the ground of ignorance imprints, the uncontaminated karma due to it, and the inconceivable transformation of the mind-made body's death and transmigration have not been abandoned, liberation is not permanent. Moreover, the continuum of subtle aggregates will not cease, and one must eventually enter the Mahayana. Not abandoning the extremely subtle objects to be abandoned is also because of realizing and meditating on the complete absence of self of phenomena. To this, one should add the phrase "liberation is attained by merely abandoning manifest afflictions," but some say that it should not be added to Arhats, which is merely guiding to conform to one's own wishes. Because the opponent also does not believe that liberation is attained by merely abandoning the manifest, such a fault becomes irrelevant. It should be added to examples like Arhat Maudgalyayana, so that it is consistent with all Indian commentaries, and it is a major point of the scriptures established by reasoning, so do not be careless. Furthermore, even if the craving caused by the self-grasping of a person as independent and autonomous is temporarily abandoned, why is there no craving caused by the view of the perishable aggregates that grasps a person as inherently existent? Even if explained in this way, it is contradictory for multiple cravings caused by multiple self-graspings to exist simultaneously in the continuum of one person. The craving caused by the latter, which is one of the twelve links of dependent origination.

How could there be desire that is not a defilement? If one thinks that there is no fault in throwing ashes at others, then it is unreasonable because the other party does not want to have desire that brings about destructive sights. If one thinks that there is no fault in dividing desire into two types, one for others, and saying that the former does not exist while the latter does, then even without adding any distinction, the power of the words "even if it is not a defilement in general" and "as if completely deluded" only shows that there is a desire that is not a defilement. How does it show that there is a desire that is a defilement? Because it does not enter into the meaning of the words. That is also after the example and the removal of doubts, it only shows the word of promise of "how could it not be." There is no basis or occasion for such an unrelated speech, in which both the reason for existence and the reason for existence are missing, to occur in the words of the great master (Nagarjuna). Then, for the Buddha, didn't he see the power of karma, such as being pierced by a splinter of sandalwood? That is only a way of showing it for the sake of the children who can see this shore. All conceptualizations dissolve into the realm of reality, and how could there be actual ripening of karma and the feeling of suffering for an illusory emanation? You think that the bodies of the Hearer Arhats are the remnants of the truth of suffering, and you have just said that the mind has not stopped and that there is no cause to stop all elaborations. They say, "The body is destroyed, feeling is cooled, perception is exhausted, activity ceases, consciousness is extinguished, such is the end of suffering." Just like that, when those Arhats abandon the activity of life, why wouldn't the five aggregates be cut off and pacified? Because the cause of rebirth is not complete, like a lamp that has run out of oil. If one thinks that they do not have the cause of rebirth, defilements, so they will not be reborn in existence, but because they have not fully realized the emptiness of all phenomena without inherent existence, the mind with an object, like holding onto samsara and nirvana as things to be abandoned and adopted, will remain in some aspect or elaboration, and not be completely pacified without an object. Therefore, any mind that has elaborations such as existence and non-existence, and is separated from emptiness that abandons all extremes, that is only a temporary cessation.
