When extracting, extract the red essence from the root of the lotus, from the vajra's hole, making a "chili-li" sound, and visualize it pervading the channels of your own body. Draw the wind upwards. By reciting "Hūṃ" (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) and doing Trulkhor, signs of extraction will appear, such as your own body feeling comfortable and warm.
