When one attains wisdom and abides in non-elaboration, it should be known that one has moved far away from the realm of the demons of fluctuating conceptualization and has entered the path that pleases the Buddhas. As it is said in the Avatamsaka Sutra: The subtle and difficult to know path of the great sage, Non-thinking, not an object of thought, difficult to see, Its nature is peaceful, without cessation, without arising, The wise and clear-minded understand it. The essence is emptiness, peaceful, suffering is exhausted, Liberation from the continuum, equal nirvana, Without beginning or middle, beyond words, Liberation in the three times, like the sky, equal and alike. And as it is said in the Ratnakuta Sutra: In terms of ultimate truth, in the presence of the wisdom and knowledge of the noble ones, there is no dharma that can be fully known, abandoned, meditated upon, or manifested. And as it is said in the Sutra Requested by the Naga King Ocean: The prior limit is empty, and the later limit is also empty, Empty of things that arise, cease, and abide, This is neither a thing that exists nor a thing that does not exist, Why? Because all dharmas are empty of inherent nature. And as it is said in the Sutra Taught by Ocean of Intelligence: Brahma, one should not accept that any dharma that is not fully established is either existent or nonexistent. And as it is said in the Sutra of the Ornament of the Light of Wisdom: Those who seek meaning do not say it exists, Nor do they say it does not exist, The path of words without answer, Without reliance, to you I pay homage. And as it is said in the Collection of Precious Qualities: If, without knowing, one conceives of form, feeling, thought, and consciousness as aggregates, and thinks that these aggregates are empty, then the bodhisattva does not engage in signs, nor does he believe in the state of no birth. Thus, it is shown that it is not permissible to cling to either existence or non-existence. And it is said: That which is not existent is called non-existent. Children examine this and distinguish between existence and non-existence. Existence and non-existence, these two are dharmas of non-existence. Whichever bodhisattva knows this will surely be liberated. Thus, it is shown that by means of prajnaparamita, which abandons the two extremes, one will surely be liberated from all views. And it is said: Not thinking of birth or no birth, This is the supreme practice of prajnaparamita. Thus it is proclaimed. In the Dense Array Sutra, it is said: Whatever views there may be, For sentient beings, they exist.

yi. In order to completely abandon all views, the principle of emptiness is taught. Even if one hears the view of emptiness, if some people's views are not eliminated, then they are incurable view-holders, like a patient abandoned by a doctor. Just as a fire that burns fuel cannot exist without fuel, similarly, if the object of burning—views—is extinguished, the fire of emptiness will also be extinguished. At the time of cutting off views, the pure fire of wisdom will arise, burning all afflictions. Having burned the afflictions, one becomes very beautiful. Thus it is said. As taught by the Noble Inexhaustible Intelligence: What is conventional truth? It is all the expressions, letters, languages, and modes of expression of the world. What is ultimate truth? For ultimate truth, there is not even the movement of mind, let alone letters. Thus it is said. Here, the establishment of the agent should be fully understood. For example, the container and its contents, the experienced or known forms, etc., and the nature of experience or knowledge, i.e., happiness, etc., in short, whether worldly or arising from scriptures, this is knowledge. This is the knowable. This exists. This does not exist, etc., all that can be established as names, and can be expressed by language, letters, and modes of expression, are all conventional. But ultimate truth is separated from inner mental expression and outer verbal expression. If one wonders how to express with the mind, for example, explaining Abhidharma to Indra with the mind, and answering verses with the mind, these can be found as examples in the sutras. Furthermore, in the Great Nirvana Sutra, it says: Son of good family, Maitreya, whatever exists and does not exist, and what is neither existent nor non-existent, is not within the capacity of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas to fathom. Thus it is said. Also, in the Samadhiraja Sutra, it says: In the past, there was a learned person who debated with Manjushri Bodhisattva. Manjushri said it exists, while that learned person said it does not exist. They argued about the truth of existence and non-existence, and never reached an agreement. Finally, after he died, he fell into the hell of eating iron balls for countless eons. After being liberated from hell, he met the Buddha Light Protector, and the Buddha Light Protector declared the two truths of existence and non-existence in this way: The nature of all dharmas is definitely one.
