A Commentary on the Ornament of the Middle Way: The Oral Instruction that Pleases Jamyang Lama. A Commentary on the Ornament of the Middle Way: The Oral Instruction that Pleases Jamyang Lama. Mādhyamakālaṃkārasya vibhāṣita mañjughoṣa gurvāmodasyāgamanāmabiharatisma. This treatise, called "A Commentary on the Ornament of the Middle Way: The Oral Instruction that Pleases Jamyang Lama," is present. By what wondrous path of dependent arising, by the supreme and incomparable speech, liberating the bonds of existence, I bow to the protector, the Lion of the Shakyas. By remembering whose name, the darkness of beginningless existence is destroyed, the enemy who has long slept in the heart is vanquished, may the gracious guru, inseparable from that youthful sun of speech, protect me. Whose tongue of evil speech, playing with various deceits in the womb of the darkness of wrong views, flickering like lightning, is severed into pieces by the power of reason, stronger than the weapons of Brahma and Indra, thus Jamyang empowered with the sword in his hand. The Bonpos and heretical beasts, who dwell in the mountain valleys, regarding India (འཕགས་པའི་ཡུལ།) and the Land of Snows (བསིལ་ལྡན།) as their home, tremble and scatter in all directions upon hearing only the name of whom, may that fearless lion of speech be victorious! Whose well-spoken words are the profound Ornament of the Middle Way, an ocean gathering hundreds of thousands of rivers of reason, in that place where the supreme wise one, the Naga King, plays, even I, a lowly one, enter with a joyful mind. Even those who possess incomparable supreme intelligence must strive and exert themselves to understand, but I have slightly opened the tenets of the good scholars, which have not declined, through the kindness of the guru. Although the reasonings of the supreme chariot path tradition are dormant in the realm of time, if they are kindled here like a fire in a dense forest, then those who speak freely should be mindful. Then, our teacher, the perfectly enlightened Buddha himself,
