It is also impossible. Just like that example, if the aspect does not exist, then for it, like blue, yellow, etc., this and this are like this, the ability to generate the self-appearing consciousness is impossible. To this, the Mind-Only school believes that the aspect is false, things exist independently, consciousness experiences in a similar way, and acknowledges experience through imputation, but here, whether it is real or imputed, it is impossible to experience. Since there is no other way to experience, in order to avoid the fault that the consciousness of experiencing the aspect completely does not exist, such a restriction is made. Second, the relationship is unreasonable. Why is there a definite feeling of that? What relationship is there between consciousness and? The selflessness of that and, It is not born from that. It is said like this. All things that are experienced must have a relationship, and it is impossible to feel without a relationship. Because the aspects of blue, yellow, etc. exist, and the object-possessing consciousness will inevitably appear to feel, according to your view, what relationship is there between consciousness and, which is unreasonable. Why is that? Like this, you believe that the aspect is without self-nature, and consciousness exists. Therefore, the relationship that becomes the self-nature of consciousness is unreasonable. If it becomes one self-nature, then it will definitely be like the aspect without consciousness, or like consciousness with aspect. And, it is not born from consciousness, because something that does not exist cannot become the result of any dharma. Even if it is allowed to be born from it, because there is before and after, there will be faults such as not being able to know simultaneously, etc., there are countless faults. The relationship that is only born from it, when there is no experience of the object, needs to be observed in general, but here, because the Mind-Only school does not admit that it is born from it, there is no need to observe here. Therefore, even if the aspect is experienced, it must be admitted that there is no relationship, which is a very serious contradiction. To this, the dharma that does not abandon other dharmas is called relationship. The outsiders have clearly distinguished between real relationship, collection relationship, etc., but have not determined the ultimate limit of the general kind. Dharmakirti said: Because any dharma is pervaded by either essential identity or essential difference, the first is the essential identity relationship, and the essential difference relationship is the relationship born from it, which is determined as two kinds.

After fabrication, with respect to something like a vase, from the aspect of eliminating permanence, it is impermanent; from the aspect of eliminating the unmade, it is made; from the aspect of eliminating non-existence, it is existence. Like this, through the elimination of others, the various aspects of fabricating the opposite are able to be understood by their respective names, but others cannot understand them. Therefore, they are separately established in the realm of sound concepts. This itself is the same in essence as just a vase, so made and impermanent are established on the vase as a relationship of oneness. Through the discriminating mind of eliminating others, it is due to the power of distinguishing and categorizing, but in meaning, it is oneness, so there cannot be a relationship of oneself to oneself, just as the tip of a finger cannot grasp itself. Its arising is the manner of cause and effect, and there are two types of causes: the substantial cause and the concomitant cause. In other treatises, there are also ways of generating results in the manner of six causes and four conditions, which should also be understood. In general, causes are explained as being of five types, but in reality, they can be summarized into two types: the cause of establishment and the cause of production. Whatever is absent and the result does not arise is called a cause. Incidentally, regarding contradiction, when two entities become mutually harmful and harmed, and cannot coexist when their permanence and ability are the same, this is known as mutually exclusive existence. Non-existents that are contradictory opposites, such as blue and non-blue, are determined as two mutually exclusive types. The first type, like light and darkness, is a contradiction in meaning; like grasping at self and realizing selflessness, is a contradiction in consciousness. Mutually exclusive contradictions have two types: direct contradiction and indirect contradiction. The first is when both are directly contradictory, such as permanent and impermanent. The second is when they are not directly opposite to each other, but the opposite of one becomes the pervader of the other, so it is impossible for both to exist, such as made and permanent, where the pervader of permanent is unmade. Regarding this, it is very important to have a deep understanding of contradictory relationships. However, due to fear of words, I will stop here, and since contradictory relationships must pervade all reasoning, I have only given a brief explanation here. Third, if we examine the cause, if there is no cause, then by what means could this occasional arising be possible? If there is a cause, then by what means will it be liberated from the control of others?
