etc., if different entities are mixed into one, how can the different parts be distinguished? Whatever appears as different in the face of harmless consciousness, there is no doubt that they are established as different, just like different jewels. If they are not different, it would lead to the consequence that knowing one is equivalent to knowing everything, one moving is equivalent to everything moving, one arising is equivalent to everything arising, and so on. Second, refuting the theory of false appearances. It is divided into two parts: stating the view and refuting the view. First part: "If in its own nature, these appearances are not there, then in reality there is no appearance, appearing to consciousness through error." It means, if it is said that in the nature or essence of consciousness itself, these appearances of consciousness are not there, and it is believed that the nature of consciousness is like a pure crystal ball devoid of all appearances. Then, what are the various appearances that appear in the mind? Although they appear, in the true sense, they appear due to illusion or error towards the formless consciousness. For example, people whose vision is disturbed by mantras, etc., will see clay, etc., as horses, cows, etc. Therefore, these appearances are not considered to be the nature of the mind, but are false like the illusion of hairs in the sky. Therefore, the mind will not become so many in number. If the appearances are real, it would contradict "one"; but for false appearances, there is no contradiction such as "one" and "different". Therefore, it is thought that all the criticisms against the theory of true appearances can be avoided, and it is sufficient to acknowledge that the clear and aware consciousness is truly established. Second, refuting it. It is divided into three parts: briefly pointing out the refutation, explaining its meaning in detail, and refuting the defense against faults. First part: "If those appearances are not there, how do they appear so clearly? Consciousness different from that entity, is not known as such." It means, if these appearances are not there, then how can these appearances be experienced and perceived so clearly, unfailingly, and undeniably by everyone from children to the wise? Whatever does not exist, it is necessarily impossible to experience, just like it is impossible to experience the touch of a hole made by a rabbit's horn, the smell of a sky flower, or the shape of a barren woman's son. To this, the proponents of false appearances would say that the appearance

Therefore, one cannot promise that this aspect will never appear, so it is not saying that it does not exist in appearance. Even if it does not exist, there should be experience, just as there is no hair-like illusion, but it can appear in the mind. That's what I think. This is unreasonable, because if analyzed in detail like this, then everything that appears can only appear in the mind. Both consciousness and appearance are similar, both being mind. But if distinguished from a relative point of view, one can establish the names of the grasping consciousness and the grasped appearance. But these two are only distinguished by conceptual thought from a relative point of view, and are essentially one, so there is no difference in good and bad, true and false, existence and non-existence, because if one does not exist, the other must not exist either. But the false-aspectarian claims that consciousness exists, but appearance does not, thus distinguishing the difference between existence and non-existence. That is, in the general view of Mind-Only, if one acknowledges an object that is different from consciousness, one goes beyond the scope of Mind-Only, so no one would acknowledge that. Therefore, whatever exists must exist in the nature of consciousness. But this false-aspectarian, seeing that appearance should not be the nature of consciousness, says that it does not exist. If it is not regarded as non-existent, then if it exists, it cannot be something different from consciousness. If appearance and consciousness are the same thing, then there would be no difference from the true-aspectarian. Therefore, either appearance does not exist, or appearance is not the nature of consciousness, or one acknowledges that appearance is false and consciousness is true. To this, false-aspectarian, since you say that appearance does not exist, then even if appearance does not exist, however, the consciousness that you think exists, like a glass ball, alone and friendless, how could it clearly manifest and experience various kinds of appearances? If there is no appearance, then what does consciousness rely on to arise and become its nature? Please think about it. For example, when hair-like illusions appear in the sky, even if there are no hair-like illusions, but it appears as hair-like illusions, because consciousness appears as hair-like illusions. If you say that, even if there are no hair-like illusions, it is not contradictory to have the experience of appearance. But if you say that the appearance that appears as hair-like illusions does not exist either, it is as if the experience of one's own mind arising with the appearance of hair-like illusions does not exist at all. Therefore, saying that appearance does not exist and promising that no appearance will appear are the same in this case.
