I want to experience it in a partial way. That is because, although I do not have knowledge, I think that I know by the power associated with knowledge. In the tenets of these non-Buddhists, the so-called "matter" does not exclusively refer to matter composed of particles, but is generally understood to mean everything that is not knowledge. Therefore, the "self" asserted by the Vaisheshika school is pervasive like space and directions, and is considered to be something whose essence is not the nature of knowledge. Like these, even in those non-Buddhist tenets that are different from this teaching, consciousness cannot appear as the only one. What is the reason? Because those non-Buddhists also possess qualities, actions, and limbs, etc., because they want to regard matter, forms, and bodies, etc., as objects of focus. Therefore, in the non-Buddhist tenets, whatever the object of focus, such as matter, etc., it is also possessed of various differences such as qualities, etc., because it is impossible to know that it appears as the only one without distinction, it is impossible for a single consciousness to exist. So it is said. Second, the specific refutations include: refuting the tenets of the victors and the superior, the Charvakas, the Samkhyas, and the secretists. First, like the nature of a precious cat's eye gem, for the view that all things are like that, the mind that holds it cannot appear as a single nature. So it is said. Among them, because they consider Brahma to be the victor, they are called the victors. Those who consider the Vaisheshika Sutra, etc., to be valid have various names such as the exterminators, the naked ones, the Brahma school, the wanderers, etc. They consider Brahma to be a god, and they consider the "self" to be the cause of bondage and liberation, so when it is extinguished, they think they have attained liberation. They believe that everything can be summarized by seven meanings of words, namely: asceticism, discipline, afflictions, bondage, liberation, life, and non-life. Among them, asceticism refers to wandering naked, not eating food, relying on five fires, holding the vow of cattle, etc. Discipline refers to practicing the ten virtues in order to prevent leaks and not accumulate new karma, namely: because they are afraid of the sin of killing living beings under their feet, they wear bells on their feet and do not cut down trees. In empty places, if no one else provides water, they do not drink it. Because they are afraid of lying, they hold the vow of silence, etc.

Afflictions are the three poisons, etc. These are the opponents of discipline. Bondage is the term for the self remaining in samsara because karma has not been exhausted. Liberation is when karma is exhausted and one is freed, becoming a white entity above all worlds, shaped like an open umbrella, round, and colored like milk, snow, Chinese incense flowers, etc. Life is considered to be that which has consciousness, and the four elements therein are consciousness and, above that, the body, possessing only one sense organ. Water trees have ear consciousness, and when they hear the sound of thunder, they grow, etc., desiring trees with individual sense organs. Similarly, worms, conches, fish, flies, etc., have two: body and tongue. Fireflies, ants, etc., have three: body, tongue, and nose, possessing three sense organs. Bumblebees, honeybees, long-beaked bees, etc., have all four other sense organs besides the eyes. Humans, horses, etc., also have eyes, so it is considered that they possess five sense organs. Non-life is that which is without consciousness, such as sound, smell, taste, light, sky, shadow, rainbow, image, reflection, etc. Furthermore, there are nine explanations of the meaning of words, namely life, leakage, discipline, inevitable aging, bondage, karma, sin, merit, and liberation. However, inevitable aging is the asceticism of tormenting the body, so it is included within asceticism. Karma is explained as four: karma that undergoes experience, name, lineage, and lifespan, but mostly it has the same meaning as bondage. Leakage and affliction have the same meaning. Merit and discipline are also the same. Sin can be summarized as leakage and bondage, so it has the same meaning as the previous seven. These consider the general state of knowable things to be diverse in terms of place, time, and number, but the nature is the same. Second, those called Vaiśeṣikas. The Brahmin Vaiśeṣikas consider Īśvara to be the creator and believe in Vishnu. Practitioners follow secret words with branches and leaves that are beneficial for philosophical speculation. They are known as Vedic followers, Vishnu followers, etc. Grammarians are also a branch of this. Among them, the views of the Vedic followers are many, but if summarized, the fruit to be sought is that if one sees and realizes the person mentioned in the Vedas, they believe that they have attained the state of immortality. That too is in the darkness far beyond the earth's circumference, possessing a light like the sun's rays. The colors are white, blue, red, pale yellow, light blue, pigeon color, turmeric, and the face of Kapinjala.
