If it occurs very quickly, then why doesn't what occurs simultaneously also occur here? If just being fast can create a clear appearance of perceiving things simultaneously, then the consciousness that grasps the sound of a whip, etc., also arises very quickly. Because of that extreme speed, why wouldn't the consciousness that arises simultaneously also arise in this case? It should arise! If the gradual and rapid perception of objects like blue and yellow must be the same as the perception of the sound of letters, then in that case, "lata" is the name for a whip, and "tala" is the name for a palm tree. Even if the mind enters those two letters gradually, if the entry is so fast that it appears simultaneous, then there would be no difference between having "la" first and "ta" first. In any case, just as those two appear without precedence, like seeing blue and yellow lines at the same time, the mind that focuses on "lata" could be mistaken for "tala," and the mind that focuses on "tala" could be understood as "whip," making the order of the letters meaningless. Or, neither could be understood. Similarly, "sara" is the name for the ocean, and "rasa" is taste, etc. All those that can be understood when the order of the letters is reversed would become the same in taste, because no matter how they are said, they appear as if there is no precedence. Therefore, if it is difficult to experience a faster sequence than the mind that focuses on discrete letters in a sequential manner, then it is meaningless to say that it is sequential without having experienced it. Even if they are similar in occurring quickly, if they do not create a simultaneous appearance, then it cannot be established that that is the cause, because whatever is the cause must invariably follow and return to that result. Second, even with just the mind's conceptual thought, it will not be understood sequentially. Because it does not last long, all minds arise quickly in a similar way. As it is said, just like thinking about the nature of an object, examining its characteristics, and thinking about the mind that trains the mind, etc., the conceptual thoughts of the mind alone, i.e., those that are not mixed with eye consciousness, etc., if they arise continuously, then for those, both before and after, a consciousness that appears simultaneously will arise, sequentially.
