Transformed. Like this, because there are no extremely minute particles, the eighteen realms of form are not truly existent. Thus, the five consciousnesses, such as eye consciousness, which arise based on the five faculties as the dominant condition and the five objects as the objective condition, are also not truly established. If these are not established, then the mental consciousness manifested by the immediately preceding condition of these five consciousnesses is also not truly established. Thus, if the six consciousnesses are not established, then the immediately past mind of these six consciousnesses is also not truly existent. When the mind is not truly existent, the mental factors such as feeling, perception, and volition, which are of the same entity as the mind, are also easily understood to be without inherent existence. Non-associated compositional factors are also related to form, etc., either directly or indirectly, and those are also established as being without inherent existence. Those non-associated factors are merely imputed by conceptual thought and do not actually exist, just as wise people repeatedly dissect them, like stabbing a corpse, which is unnecessary. Non-revealing forms are also said to be established by the four great elements as the cause. Thus, since there are no four great elements, they also do not exist. Unconditioned phenomena such as space have already been refuted. Therefore, since the eighteen realms are also clearly shown to be without inherent existence, many of the things asserted by our own school are established as being without inherent existence in this way. The way in which many things asserted by other schools are established as being without inherent existence is also that when two particles, etc., are gathered together, they are imputed as having parts. Therefore, if the fundamental particle does not exist, then it also does not exist. Sound is a quality of space. If it is not accepted as a quality of the four great elements such as form, then if the four great elements are not truly established, it is not established. Actions such as lifting depend on embodied beings, and the basis of the body's composition is particles, so it is also known that it does not exist. The great universal and the universal of a cow are also related to form, etc., and are its universal. All the particulars, such as trees and earth, which belong to form, depend on particles and are the dependent and the depended upon. Those who mutually pledge to gather also mostly depend on particles, so the views of those outsiders will also be destroyed. In short, if analyzed well, due to the key point that the knower and the known are mutually interdependent, since particles are not established, matter is not established. From this, it is also known that the mind is not truly established, and ultimately all phenomena also have no truth.

Dependence can destroy attachment, just as if any one of the thin branches is pulled out of a bundle, the others become unstable and gradually scatter. Second, refuting the one consciousness as true is divided into refuting the one consciousness as true in the school that admits external objects exist, and refuting the one consciousness as true in the school that does not admit external objects exist. The first is divided into two parts: refuting the individual tenets of each, and concluding by showing that it is impossible for a single true consciousness to exist in common. The first is divided into two: refuting the tenets of the two schools of our own side, the Realists, and refuting the tenets of the outsiders. The first is divided into two: refuting the tenets of the featureless Vaibhashikas, and refuting the tenets of the featuring Sautrantikas. The first is divided into three parts: establishing that self-awareness is reasonable, establishing that object-awareness is unreasonable, and thus showing that the featureless system is unreasonable. The first is divided into two parts: identifying the nature of self-awareness, and showing the reason why it is self-awareness. First, it is said, "The consciousness aspect is different from the nature of matter, and it arises very much transformed. Whatever is the non-material nature, that itself is the nature of consciousness." In general, there are two types of people: those who accept external objects and those who do not. Among those who accept external objects, there are two types of consciousness: featureless and featured. First, the Vaibhashikas, who say that consciousness is featureless, admit that external objects exist, but they believe that external objects are seen by the sense organs, and that consciousness is like a crystal ball, not holding the appearance of objects. Thus, form and so on are directly and nakedly grasped by the dependent sense organs, and what need is there for a connecting aspect between the object and the object-possessor? For example, when a vase is seen, it is thought that only the self-character of the vase located in the place of the object is seen directly and nakedly. This is in accordance with the thinking of ordinary people, who are attached to "I saw the vase with my eyes," and think that the seeing eye and the seen vase are the nature of the directly appearing object. Therefore, if a hundred people look at the same vase, they all think that what everyone sees is only the same vase. In response to this, the Sautrantikas and other schools analyze that all objects appear in their own consciousness aspect and are grasped, but if consciousness does not grasp them, how can they be consciousness? Because it is impossible for matter to know objects.
