Therefore, by establishing the commitments of their respective measurements, ultimately applying all commitments to the ultimate truth that is beyond all concepts. These two are like a single ladder, so if you grasp this key point, you will also grasp the ultimate profound essence of the consequentialists. In this treatise as well, from "The nature of all things follows the path of reason" to "Conventional transformation is also not true," the meaning in between is of one mind and one voice with glorious Chandrakirti. Therefore, as long as there is attachment to the two truths separately on one dharma, then in its presence, conventional validity and its non-existence are irreversibly equal. When the object of attachment to the two truths separately is refuted by reason, and thus free from subtle clinging, then the two simultaneously disappear and become free from elaboration. Thus, although temporarily dividing the two truths in the mind, ultimately in meaning, the key to establishing non-duality as free from elaboration is when determining the object of practice of the non-conceptual wisdom of meditative equipoise, and when determining the object of practice of the discriminating wisdom of subsequent attainment, it is very important to distinguish between having and not having commitments, etc. Therefore, although the modes of samsara, nirvana, bondage, and liberation do not exist in the face of the wisdom of meditative equipoise, they can be measured by the wisdom of subsequent attainment, so Chandrakirti also holds that the methods of learning the path and the methods of attaining Buddhahood are only manifested in the appearance of ordinary worldly people, and he does not accept all that is not known there. Regarding how the consequentialists accept according to worldly convention, it is explained that it is like ordinary worldly people who have not had their minds changed by tenets among the two types of worldly people who have and have not had their minds changed by tenets, which is very amazing. The term "world" here must be understood to include both those who have entered the path and those who have not, as Shantideva said, "Yogic world and ordinary world." Therefore, for these worlds of those who have and have not entered the path, due to the power of pure and impure dependent origination, there are various appearances that are known and established for each, and these appearances of their own faces are directly established as the quiescence of elaboration in their own place, rather than merely establishing this term of dependent origination as established.

Therefore, it is important to distinguish in this way, like acknowledging views that are widely known without examination, without needing to engage in detailed analysis. Otherwise, it would be strange if a yogi, when establishing their own system of path and fruit, had to rely on the minds of ordinary people. Thus, this is a way of establishing ultimate truth. In general, the great chariots (schools) should be understood as having the same intention, both simultaneous and subsequent. Such profound principles as these are difficult to realize even for those authorities who are endowed with excellent innate wisdom and learning. How could I, a petty thinker, be able to explain them by my own power, even if I were to think for a hundred years, it would be difficult to grasp their profound essence? However, since I have relied on the good sayings of masters such as Rongzompa and Longchen Chökyi Gyalpo (Longchenpa), and on the scriptural authority of the lineage of vidyadharas, and through the power of having gained a slight entry into wisdom, I have spoken. Therefore, those who are equally established on the edge of stainless correct view, and those who have thoroughly studied the profound and vast realms, will have great confidence in these statements. Although many say they will explain extensively, it is very rare to know and experience the profound meaning. More profound than profound, O you who possess the supreme tongue of wisdom! If there is one, taste this supreme flavor of profound meaning! This is an intermediate verse. Regarding the view of the Mind-Only school, later commentators say that this khenpo (referring to Śāntarakṣita) does not accept a foundational consciousness (ālayavijñāna) separate from the six consciousnesses. In general, they say that dividing the mind into several subtle parts and indicating them by the name of foundational consciousness is also common in some great Madhyamikas and in the tantric tradition. However, in general, in this treatise, there is no clear textual statement indicating that he accepts the foundational consciousness, so it is permissible to set it up that way according to one's own wishes for the time being. However, in general, if one wants to assert that appearances are mind, one must necessarily accept a foundational consciousness that holds the habitual tendencies, otherwise it is not permissible. Therefore, if one accepts a characteristic of the Mind-Only school as it is taught in scriptures such as the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra and the Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra, one must necessarily accept the foundational consciousness. Because the foundational consciousness is like the essence of the Mind-Only philosophy. If it is established, then there is no contradiction in the existence of the afflicted mind (kliṣṭamanas), so one must accept the eight consciousnesses. Moreover, in this treatise it also says, "The Mahāyāna teachings summarized in two ways are as follows." Just as scriptures of the five dharmas and three natures are quoted, it is Mind-Only.
