I will become like a Mind-Only proponent. Therefore, in the Mind-Only system, they do not accept the self-awareness that is empty of both the apprehended and the apprehender as truly existent, nor do they consider the moment of grasping to be truly established. They believe that if there is no apprehended, there is no apprehender. They believe that there exists self-awareness that transcends the apprehended and apprehender and is not an object of elaboration, or stainless consciousness, or wisdom itself. Because these have not arisen in the mind, they have spoken meaningless words. In the appearance of nominal imputation, there are particles with parts and consciousness with parts. But how could they exist in the ultimate reality? If the ultimate object of the Yoga practice's own system of the limb path, or if it is refuted by the reasoning that examines the ultimate, then how could those dharmas not exist in name? This is also because of the fault of not understanding the two truths of this system, and there is nothing that is spoken correctly. Furthermore, someone says, if the mind of Deva-given has arisen with the general meaning of all knowable objects, then are there other knowable dharmas other than the object that has arisen in the mind? If there are, then there must also be the material of the appearing object; if there are not, then it is too much to fall into the tenets of the secret school, which is strange. If the mind of Deva-given has arisen with the general meaning of all knowable objects, then if there are other knowable dharmas other than what has arisen in the mind, then there should also be the external object of the appearing object; if there are not, if it is said that it is too much to fall into the tenets of the secret school, then isn't it just entangling oneself? Also, the Hearers and Solitary Realizers see the truth of suffering, and that is not from the omniscient mind, if it is not so, then the omniscient mind of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers is too much to be the truth of suffering. If the truth of suffering exists outside of that omniscient mind, then similarly, matter should also exist outside of one's own consciousness, saying that is the same as what was just said. If one uses that example to say that the external object also exists outside of one's own consciousness, then how can one prevent it? Similarly, it is too much to not have the five aggregates, etc., everything is one key point. In the Mind-Only system, if one follows the appearance of nominal terms, then there is also the establishment of the five aggregates. There is also the establishment of matter and consciousness. There is also the establishment of external objects and internal grasping, etc., one must know how to establish all appearances without diminishing them, who would say that there is not? If one speaks from the perspective of accurately examining the state of affairs, then there is no external object that is encompassed by matter such as form. Is the external object existent or non-existent?

As stated in the scriptures and so on. Whether matter and external objects are equal or not, whether they are the same or not, because matter exists in name, but external objects are not even acknowledged in name, if you think so. Alas, you only know how to recite the words of the great treatises, but you do not understand their meaning. You want to cross the ocean of treatises with only the aim of words, which is a laughing matter. First, determine what is meant by external objects. Then, it would be good if you could apply the non-existence of external objects such as form and matter to all objects of knowledge. The so-called "external" refers to what is outside of inner consciousness. The so-called "object" refers to form and so on, is it or is it not? If not, then there is no external form, because one's own mind appears as external. What is the use of merely saying "there is no external object," which does not help the tenets of the Yogacara-cittamatra at all? As it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: "The expressed is empty, of all expressions, this and that are confused, hence it is a fault." As it is said. If there are no external objects even in name, then are the forms and so on that appear in this way the substance of inner consciousness, or are they not? If not, then external objects are also established by that. Moreover, the reasons for establishing that the grasper and the grasped are not different entities by means of simultaneous determination and so on will also become meaningless. If you establish that they are not different entities, but also not one entity, then how can you establish the real aspect from the mere appearance? Think about it. If it is established as the nature of mind, then is it reasonable in name that the nature of mind is established as particles? If the mind abides in its natural state, think about it a little. Do you acknowledge the common basis of matter and consciousness? Therefore, the horse and elephant in a dream have the appearance of matter and form, and although they are so designated in name, in reality there is no form composed of particles, but only consciousness appears as form. If this is commonly said in the Yogacara school, then your unprecedented tenet is very strange. Therefore, the statement that there are no external objects even in name is made from the point of view of examining the actual state. Matter is also the same as that. If from the point of view of nominal appearance, one should not even say the name of external objects, as it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Three three appearances." The three things mentioned are the inner meaning, and the body mentioned, that is, in name, to the mind.
