Those who merely think of conventional truth as a flawed and bad thing, and who value it less than emptiness, will hardly have a pure and profound Madhyamaka view. Therefore, calling unreal appearances conventional truth, and calling emptiness without inherent existence ultimate truth, without valuing either of these two, but equally combining form and so on up to omniscience, if you understand this, you can be sure that there is no more important knowledge to be gained within the realm of knowledge. Therefore, even the appearances of wisdom that are non-dual with the expanse, if their essence is not empty, they will become different from the expanse, so in order to be equal to the expanse, one should realize that appearance and emptiness are inseparable, and are of a perfectly pure nature. Thus, correctly understanding the reality of the two truths is the only Madhyamaka path. Having briefly explained the nature of the two truths along with their implications, now, how do the Mahayana practitioners who practice such a nature of the two truths understand and practice it? It is attained by following the immaculate tradition of the great chariot path of the two ways, and although the Mahayana is profound and vast, in short, as it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: "The five dharmas and the three natures, the eight consciousnesses and the meaning of selflessness, all Mahayana is contained within these two." As it is said, namely, name, cause, conceptualization, true wisdom, suchness, these are the five dharmas; the completely imputed, the other-dependent, the thoroughly established, these are the three characteristics; the eight collections of consciousness; the two selflessnesses of person and phenomena, all are included within them. The latter, such as the three characteristics, are also completely included within the five dharmas. It should be understood as it appears in the sutra itself. Among them, the cause is what appears as the characteristics of shape and form, and so on. To distinguish that characteristic with the name of a vase and so on, and to cling to and establish it, that is the name. Having named it in this way, the reasons are made clear. These two are the completely imputed, because the scope of activity of sound concepts, appearing as the grasper and the grasped, if analyzed, is unreal. In this way, the object to be grasped and the grasper

Mind and mental phenomena are called discrimination. If divided, there are eight aggregates of consciousness. That is the other-powered nature, which is the basis of various appearances that appear only in name. Thus, all phenomena included in inner and outer, in which the nature of the two selves is not established even slightly, this realm of phenomena is suchness. Following that, the self-awareness of each object that is free from untrue discrimination is called true wisdom. The latter two, object and subject, are called the perfectly established nature. It is not that the self-nature is truly established, but because it is truthful and not mistaken, it is so established in the Ladakhi language. Therefore, within these five, all the tenets of Mind-Only and Madhyamaka are included by reason, so it should be known that all Mahayana is also exhausted in this. That with name and cause Included in the external appearance of various appearances, this is not truly established in the meaning of the external object. The appearance is born from the power of the maturation of various habits residing in the realm of Alaya consciousness, knowing it as the appearance of a dream, this is the principle of nominal consciousness-only, which is the first principle, and is included in the first three of the five dharmas. Thus, in name, the nature of mind appears in various ways, but the mind itself is not truly existent by nature, so all dharmas from form to omniscience are known to be unreal and unborn, which is the principle of ultimate Madhyamaka, or the second principle, and is included in the latter two of the five dharmas. Such two principles are not contradictory, as it is said in the Sutra Unraveling the Thought: 'The realm of action and the ultimate characteristic are the characteristics of being separate from one and different. Those who think of one and different are not entering in accordance with reality.' Thus, not accepting either one or different, but the path of dual union of the two truths of name and ultimate, is the Great Vehicle, and the person who abides in it is the Great Vehicle practitioner who is worthy of the name. Thus, first, in the realm of sound discrimination of hearing and thinking, it is born in name, and not born in ultimate truth, such as the difference between the two principles of dual union.
