In this world, constantly generating compassion, those who are brave in benefiting beings, the wise who have expanded their minds in enlightenment, adorned with wisdom and compassion, truly practice the conduct of the Tathagata. Thus, first settling on suchness, from this arises great compassion, and one enters into perfect enlightenment. Furthermore, those who follow with faith, having generated the mind of perfect enlightenment, having manifested the conduct of the Tathagata, strive to seek true knowledge. As it is said, having first generated the mind of enlightenment through compassion, there are two ways of entering into the search for the true suchness, which is indispensable for seeking enlightenment. In any case, the two precious jewels of conventional and ultimate bodhicitta are mutually supportive and inseparable due to the nature of things. Fourth, in the concluding section, there are two: the colophon of the author composed by the teacher, and the colophon of the translator translated by the translator. First, the verses of the Ornament of the Middle Way, composed by the teacher Shantarakshita, who has reached the other shore of the ocean of his own and others' tenets, taking the immaculate pistils of the lotus feet of the noble Lord of Speech upon his head. Thus, he knows without exception the tenets of the mundane and supramundane, and what they represent, such as the immeasurable places of knowledge like the ocean, and shows that he has heard the Dharma from the actual Lord Manjushri. "Complete" means that the text is without any deficiency. Second, the Indian abbot Surendrabodhi, namely Devendra Bodhi, and the reviser, the translator Bande Yeshe De, translated the words from Sanskrit into Tibetan, and again corrected the meaning of the words and established it through teaching and learning. So it is. Regarding this, Je Tsongkhapa considered both the verses and prose to be the root. This commentary is also the speech of the great banner himself, which is an excellent nectar of great meaning. If the root and commentary can be taught and learned together, it would be very good, so it is said to be the root. Although it is said so, there is no contradiction in meaning, etc. There must be a special need to keep the teachings shown by that great being in mind, but in general, the meaning sometimes

It is not in the alternating manner of being shown in verses, or sometimes in prose, but only in explaining and elaborating the meaning of the root verses with explanation, just like this. Therefore, if here the self-commentary itself is taken as the method of explanation, because the words are very many and difficult for others to understand, although the words of the explanation are not sought, in reality all the key points of the explanation have been clearly analyzed. Relying on this, one can also experience the power of the words of the explanation itself. Therefore, it would be better to look at both the self-commentary and the difficult commentary again. Now, the second section above is: Like this, this treatise, which is superior due to the differences of many qualities, needs to be explained and taught, because one needs to obtain the differences of common and uncommon benefits. For example, like polishing a wish-fulfilling jewel. Among them, the common one is that, like this, if one leads those immaculate intentions of the Buddha's words through the path of reason, and thus generates certainty, then there is hope for realizing the benefits of holding all of the Great Vehicle that encompasses the two ways, because the supreme way of holding the Dharma is the Dharma of realization, and the way to hold it is only to realize it oneself and then practice it as it is. Like this, in the completely pure realm of Dharma, after eliminating all inverted conceptions with immaculate reason, and showing it to others as one has realized it oneself, the benefits of that, the Samadhiraja Sutra says: Whoever teaches this samadhi, that person will never have doubt about enlightenment, that person has the supreme accumulation of merit, that person has immeasurable and inconceivable qualities, the world teacher guides all Buddhas, except for the self-born great compassion, below that, any sentient being, in this great thousand world, with the accumulation of merit, incomparable and inconceivable wisdom, there is never anyone equal. And so on, one should know through these. In the uncommon aspect, this great chariot (referring to Je Tsongkhapa), who is inseparable in essence from the venerable Manjushri (འཇམ་པའི་དབྱངས།), with the aspiration and mind that spread the white light of the doctrine in our own Tibetan land (བོད་ཡུལ།), which is difficult for anyone to tame.
